Chapter 39:Teamwork

Lucy-

"Alright, who wants to play some Capture the flag?" Jace asks, striding into the living room. Harry, Four, Austin, and Troy are playing a war video game. They totally ignore Jace, their eyes focused on the large Television screen.

Jace sighs and crosses his arms, glaring at the four boys. I giggle, also crossing my arms. Harry turns to me and messes with some buttons of the controller, and the video game system shuts off.

Troy, Austin, and Four all groan in sync.

"You heard the guy," Harry says."He wants us to play Capture the flag-the most fun activity to play. Now let's head to the training room."

Harry dismounts the sofa and leaves the room. Jace threatens to beat the remaining boys up if they don't agree to play.

Now we're inside the training room-it's the size of a high school gym-and A few of the others decided to play. There are ten of us-Mary, Asott, Anthony, and Cole decided to play also. My team consists of myself, Asott, Harry, Mary, and Troy. The opposing team consists of Anthony, Cole, Jace, Four, and Austin.

We're in a huddle and the other team has formed their own huddle, across the room.

"I'll use my Telekinesis to float the flag over to me." Harry suggests.

Mary shakes her head, then says,"No. Jace specifically said not to manipulate the flags in any way."

Mary seems to be deep in thought, then she finally comes up with a idea.

"I'll shrink myself and the flag, then someone should put me inside their pocket," She says, excitedly."That should work."

Harry sighs loudly."Remember? No manipulating the flag."

"I say, whatever happens, happens," Troy says."Let's just do this thing to the best of our ability."

We all agree, seeing as there are no other options. The other team has broken their huddle, and are now waiting for us.

"We're ready!" Harry yells.

"About time!" Jace yells back."Let's do this!"

The flags are Jace's T-Shirts that he can no longer fit. The weapons are Nitave tasers that Harry used his Technology Manipulation Superpower to only make them not do much damage, not enough to kill someone.

We all take Nitave tasers and prepare ourselves. Mack, who's acting as the referee, starts his countdown. When he's finished, we're off.

Everyone starts moving. I see Austin peel his shirt off and dragon wings sprout from his back.

I'm too busy watching Austin take flight, that I don't notice Anthony charging at me. He tries to zap me with his taser, but I dodge the device.

My hand pushes forward and I zap him in the chest. I keep doing this until he collapses on the ground from the pain. Two yards to my right, Asott and Jace are circling eachother. Jace's bloodthirsty nature gets the best of him, so he roughly grabs Asott.

Mary tackles into Jace's backside, but she's so small that Jace barely feels it. Then she decides to tase him, he drops Asott and shoves Mary away. While Jace is focused on Mary, me and Asott tase him with our tasers.

Hurt and exhausted, Jace falls to his knees-breathing heavily. The three of us cheer and move on to the next adversary.

Four-

I'm flying towards the enemies' flag, when I'm suddenly forced to the ground by a Telekinetic force. I see Lucy concentrating deeply, imprisoning me with her Telekinesis. Mary and Asott ready their tasers.

None of them notice Jace behind them. He knocks all three of them down in one swift motion. I'm freed from my Telekinetic prison. Austin, who was also knocked down, rises to his feet.

The three of us spot Harry tasing Cole. We rush to Cole's aid, but that's when we realize our mistake. While we're leaving our flag unguarded, Asott snatches it and gives it to the quickest runner on his team-Mary.

As Mary rushes to her home base, I hurl a shadow shard towards her leg. Lucy halts the shard's flight with Telekinesis. Then, with amazing speed, sends the shadow back towards us. The shadow shard explodes, sending me, Austin, and Jace sailing in the air.

When I collide with my home base wall, I see Mary has successfully captured our flag. Mack blows the whistle and yells,"Mary's team wins!"

I can't believe my team lost. We had the best team players, but we still lost!

"Okay guys," Mack says."Let's watch T.V."

Jace-

"Anthony, wanna watch The Hunger Games movie?" I ask Anthony, striding into his bedroom. Anthony is sitting on his bed, staring at a Facebook page. On the screen is Maddy's profile picture for Facebook. She took the photograph of herself in a hat with her dark brown hair let down.

"Dude," I say in amusement."You like Maddy?!"

"Shut up," He replies. Then he walks over to the door, and shuts it. He turns to face me with a worried look on his face."Please don't tell anyone."

"I won't tell. She's cute an everything, but she barely has any boobs. She's nearly flat ch-" I say, but he hurls a pillow at my face. I teleport over to him, then grab one of his thin arms."You should really get some muscles before talking to her. I don't think she's going to like a stick."

"Whatever," He says as I open the door."And yes, I will be in the living room watching The Hunger Games movie!"
