"You see, my grandmother is traveling and asked your mother if I could stay here for the remaining part of the summer. I hope it is alright with all you. I wanted it to be a surprise!" I finish saying to Percy, who is the only one to notice that I am here. Ron and the twins were oblivious to the fact that I was sitting at their table until Percy said my name.
"Well, of course you are welcome here Bethany, just remember, I like my privacy." says Percy. It is sort of strange how he says it. Almost like it was a threat. Oh well.
"Wait, the remaining part of the summer?" asks Fred.
"Yes. Is that alright?" I ask.
"Are you KIDDING? THIS IS GOING TO BE GREAT!" says Fred.
"Fantastic!" adds in George.
"Bloody brilliant." says a not too excited Ron. I look around and no one else heard him so I will maybe ask him about it later.
"So, whos ready for supper?" Asks Molly. Seeing the look on everyone's face she knows that we are all starving. She brings a pot of soup over. I have no idea what kind it is, but it smells so good so I don't ask. Then a platter of rolls come soaring in the air, along with glasses and pitchers with various liquids.
The next hour is spent at the table enjoying table talk. It is strange, but amazing to see how the Wealsely's all sit and listen to each other. I can defiantly tell that they truly care for one another. It is a whole new side of Fred I haven't seen. Ron and him get along at Hogwarts, but they act nothing like this.
We continue eating for what feels like hours and finally I start to feel full. I lay down my utensils and just observe the people around me. Okay, okay. I observe Fred. He is still eating and between mouthfuls he talks to George around the massive sound wave going on around the table. I cant hear anything they are saying, but I can tell its serious. I am about to ask when Molly get up and says, "Alright kids, lets clean up. Do your chores and then you can do whatever for the rest of the night."
"What would you like me to do Mrs. Weasley?" I ask as I'm getting up from my place at the table.
"Oh dear, I didn't mean to include you in that. You can just go relax in the living area or your room."
"That wont be necessary. I don't mind helping." I say.
"Well, with this many kids I have pretty much everything covered..."
"She can help me with the garden mum." says Fred.
"Oh, she will get all dirty Fred no."
'No, really Mrs. Wealey. It's fine! I don't mind at all!" I say, mostly because i can spend time with Fred.
"Alright. It's just picking a few vegetables. I need them for supper and dinner tomorrow. Usually takes awhile, but with you helping it should only take 10 minuets."
"Great. Lead the way Fred."
So we head off to the garden and start looking for potatoes and tomatoes that are ripe and ready to pick.
"So.. why didn't you tell me you were coming?" asks Fred.
"I told you. I wanted it to be a surprise. And when I found out we really were not talking." I say fairly quietly.
"Oh. Well I'm glad you are here. I know its only been a month but I have missed you."
I think back on the recent month. The man. Mum. I shiver at the thought of them. "I'm glad I'm here too... you have no idea."
For the rest of the evening we talk and play games by the fire when Mr. Weasley gets a owl from work. "Well, looks like a misuse of a muggle door handle. I have to go into work now, straiten some things out. I'll be back in the morning."
"Bye, Dad." says everyone around me. I sit there and just wave goodbye, not wanting to be the only one who says "Mr. Weasley." That would just be strange.
"Well.. look at the time. I think I'm going to go get some sleep. Coming George?" asks Fred.
"On my way behind you." reply's George.
"I think ill go too." says Ron. But, before he can get away I pull him off to the side.
"Ron, what is going on?" I ask.
"Have you gotten a single letter from Harry this summer?"
"I have sent him a few, but he hasn't replied, stupid muggles probably won't let him."
"Ah. So it isn't just me. Good. Well night Beth." says Ron as he makes his way up the stairs, but before he reaches his room, two pairs of arms pull him into another room. The Twins. I make my way up the stairs and knock on their door.
"Guys, its me. Can I come in?"
No reply. Strange. I press my ear to the door and I listen. Nothing. I decide to open the door anyway and when I look in the room I find no one, but leading down from the window is a rope of sheets and I see shadows in the shed. All the sudden a car comes zooming out from it and starts to...wait. FLY?
I decide not to worry about anything. I don't want the boys to get into trouble. I quietly return to my and Ginny's room and take a seat at her window ledge. She is already asleep and I don't want to wake her so I am as quiet as possible. I decide to stay awake until they return, I search the sky for headlights or a zooming object, but nothing. Hours pass, I'm hardly awake now. Hopefully they will be back soon. If not, I don't know what to do.
