CHAPTER THREE

                  

"She said Yes!" tuwang tuwa na ibinalita ni Gabrielle sa fiancé.

Ruru smiled at the news she shared and took her in his arms, planting a kiss on the top of her head. He knew how much she struggled with the decision to seek out the author of the book that reminded her of the traumatic events she went through almost four years ago. "I'm happy she did."

Tumango si Gab. "Masayang masaya din ako."

"How was she?"

"Mabait siya though I think I caught her off-guard."

Hindi naman nabigla si Ruru doon. Kahit nung unang pinag-uusapan nila ito ni Gab e may agam agam siya sa pwedeng maging reaction nang book author.

After all, the way she had written Louise and Enzo's story, Ruru was sure that Maine Mendoza had developed a closeness to the other two.

"Buti na lang nakinig pa rin siya."

Ngumiti si Gab. "Sinwerte ako kase na-meet ko ang Tatay niya at saka ako naman ito e, kung si Kuya siguro ang nakaharap niya baka hindi."

Natawa siya. "Malamang tumakbo yun sa takot kay RJ."

"Hindi malayo. Kitang kita ko sa kanya kanina na may takot nga e."

"E kahit ako takot sa kuya mo."

Hinampas siya ni Gab sa braso. "Hindi halata sa'yo na takot ka kay Kuya ha. Grabe mo nga siya asarin e."

Pilyo siyang ngumiti. "Ikaw naman Hon... ganun lang talaga kami ni RJ. Parang di ka pa sanay."

"O kaya nga! Ano yung statement na takot ka sa kanya?"

Inaantay nya talaga itanong yun ni Gab. Buong buo ang ngiti niya nang sumagot "E kayang kaya kang kunin nun sa akin nun. Dun lang ako natatakot."

"BOLERO!" She laughed aloud.

Ruru and RJ were classmates in highschool. He met Gab when they were in their sophomore year.

Alam niya na maganda si Gab pero he never felt anything beyond brotherly affection for her during their younger years. She was in grade school pa when they first met.

However, during their last year in College, he would often crash the Faulkerson's family home for all-nighters because he and RJ took up architecture and were even classmates in some of their subjects.

It was their passion – beautiful and awe inspiring structures.

However, while Ruru was free to pursue what he wanted, RJ had to focus on their family's business upon graduation because his Father was diagnosed with lung cancer.

Dati e napag-usapan nila na as soon as they graduate e pareho silang maglilibot sa buong mundo para kumuha nang inspirasyon.

They had it all planned out – Italy, Spain, Greece. All the locations that the great masters of Architecture started, he and RJ were going to visit all of them.

But since Ruru eventually found himself doing it alone, he started with a blog where Gabrielle would sometimes comment and talk to him.

It was his way of letting people at home know how he was doing while it was Gab's way of coping with the heart aches brought by the fear of possibly losing a father. He often talked to RJ but more often than not, it was Gab he got to speak the most to.

They started chatting despite the distance and she became the one person in the world he would first share his pictures with wherever he was.

Hindi sigurado si Ruru kung dahil ba doon kaya siya nagsimula magkagusto kay Gabrielle but he was able to confirm what he really felt for her when he returned and saw her during his welcome back party.
