This was a record.
In all their lives, Gab and her Kuya RJ, have never gone longer than a day in not speaking to each other after a fight.
Still, the circumstances were different this time and even though she could not agree to what he wants, she has decided to talk to him now for their parents – particularly ang Mommy nila.
Nagagalit na ito na hindi sila nag-uusap and RJ has decided to stay in his own unit rather than go home to their house in Laguna like he did before.
"Kailangan nyo na mag-usap nang Kuya mo" the older woman told her calmly during dinner last night.
"Hindi ako mag-so-sorry Mommy. I have nothing to apologize for" she answered, her chin going up in defiance.
"Ang sabi ko mag-usap kayo. Kung anuman ang mangyayari sa pag-uusap nyo na yun ay kayong magkapatid na ang bahala. But it is stupid for the both of you to continue acting like toddlers. I will not allow it and if the both of you do not start talking to each other again, pati kami nang Daddy ninyo hindi na kayo kakausapin."
And that was final.
Kilala na ni Gab ang tono na yun. Kahit ang Ama niya e hindi na kokontrahin iyun.
They knew the Faulkerson matriarch.
She sighed.
She has read the first ten chapters and if only he could, he would have loved it.
The story had the right tone.
Maine even went as far as "humanizing" the character that represented her brother.
It was closer to the Kuya she knew.
Pero sa pinaggagagawa nang kapatid niya ngayon, he was closer to the villain in book one.
Gab grunted in frustration as she parked her car and headed for the elevator.
Hindi niya tinext o tinawagan ang kapatid na pupuntahan niya to dahil baka lalo lang ito umiwas sa kanya. She knew her Kuya well enough to be sure of that.
RJ hated having to fight with anyone he was close with. Pero kapag kailangan talaga niya patagalin ang away sa isang tao to prove a point, he won't show himself to the other person.
Kapag kaharap niya kase yung tao e he tends to resolve the conflict immediately.
He really was not the kind that could last long in a fight except against his competition in the business and with Enzo.
And if he continues being a smart alec, kahit si Maine siguro e hindi nito magagawang maging kaibigan – which was a pity really because the other woman was amazing and beautiful and... possibly someone na bagay sa kuya niya.
She had seen their pictures in the Gala and they looked perfect.
She had even noted that to Ruru and her fiancé had told her na wag siya magkamali banggitin sa Kuya niya yun dahil baka umapoy lang ito lalo sa galit. He seems to have shown nothing but contempt for Maine during the encounters na nakikita nang mga kaibigan niya and during the times na may isa sa kanila ang mang-aasar ukol dito.
Still, despite the stories she had heard from the other boys on her Kuya's attitude towards the writer, pakiramdam niya e tama lang na nagkakilala sila.
