He saw her trudge towards the kitchen and worried.

Sigurado siya na he carried her back to the bed to sleep comfortably but by the looks of her, she seemed to still need rest.

RJ seriously considered cancelling his plans for the two of them today until she smiled up at him after he handed her a cup of coffee.

"I know na it's short notice but we need to leave by ten" he then told her "Do you think you could manage it?"

Her brows furrowed. "Are we checking out?"

He nodded. "Gab and Ruru will be here by that time."

"Gab and Ruru?!?"

"Kris' family has a rest house in Batangas that is near here. It's private at saka sobrang ganda. We've been invited to spend the rest of the weekend there."

Maine's eyes almost bugged out of her face. "WHAT?!?! I have nothing to wear!"

RJ smiled. "Gab has everything you need. Excited siya na magkita kayong dalawa and kahit sinabi ko na pwede naman na doon na lang tayo magkita e pinilit niya na dumaan pa rin sila dito. I won't be surprised if she insists na magkasama kayo sa kotse."

"Well... Uhmmm... Ahhhh...." she looked flustered and then seemed to eventually get a little more comfortable with the idea in her head because the next thing she said was "I can drive naman to that place pero susundan kita."

"Who says you're driving?"

"Iiwan ko yung car ko dito?!?"

"I've arranged for everything so don't worry your head too much, ok? Just trust in me."

He was happy to note that despite her perfunctory need to question him, she clamped down on it and stayed quiet for a few seconds.

"Ok" she answered measuredly.

"After breakfast, someone will be up to help you pack."

"Really? Hindi na kailangan. I can pack on my own."

"Maine, it's 30 minutes past 8. You still need to shower and dress for our trip. Accept the help para wala ka nang ibang alalahanin, ok?"

He handed her a danish to remind her that she still needed to eat breakfast and gave his imaginary self a high-five when she bit into the bread without another word.

What he told her last night must have made an impact because she wasn't resisting him as much as she did before.

"One step at a time, Faulkerson" he told himself "One step at a time."

Everything was just far too easy, naisip ni Maine.

When a Faulkerson set their mind to something, they really did everything in their power to make sure they got it.

The maid who helped her pack was already informed to prepare a second and lighter bag for her for a trip to the beach. The woman neatly arranged everything in a bag and nang dumating sina Gab at Ruru, they had a driver with them who was tasked to take Maine's car back to Bulacan, along with her other belongings.

She was not used to such extravagant comforts.

And it definitely showed because Gab told her to not think about it anymore.

The younger Faulkerson, as mentioned by RJ, was indeed very excited to see her.

At tulad din nang sinabi ni RJ e muntikan na sila ang magsama sa sasakyan if her older brother had not swooped in and mentioned na pwede naman silang magkwentuhan to their heart's content sa beach at hayaan na daw muna ni Gab si Maine na makapag-pahinga pa lalo sa byahe.
