CHAPTER THIRTY-SEVEN

He knew she was beautiful.

Still, sometimes, the light would hit her in a different way, or her hair would sway against the wind, or her eyes would shine right through him and RJ would just get breathless all over again.

He wasn't going to deny the effect she had on him anymore.

And he most certainly was not going to deny that the moment she told him she forgave him, that she understood him, that she knew he was sincere... muntikan na naman siyang maubusan nang hininga at how beautiful she was.

Siya lang ata ang natatanging babae na kilala ni RJ na lalong gumaganda habang tumatagal.

And when she covered his mouth to stop him from speaking and told him the most honest words he had heard in a long time, his heart wanted to burst out of his ribcage.

Tama siya na sobrang bait talaga nito.

He didn't deserve to be forgiven that easily.

He deserved to walk on fire.

He deserved to get ripped into shreds.

He deserved to be water-boarded and tortured for what he put her through.

Alam niya mismo sa sarili niya na kung sa kanya nangyari yun, he wouldn't even give the other person a chance to talk but she... she not only allowed him to talk, she listened to him, and sincerely forgave every spiteful thing he did.

UNBELIEVABLE.

"Uhmmmm.... Ahhhh.... Kumain ka na ba nang breakfast?" she asked him now.

"Are you offering food to me?" he asked, surprised.

"Kung hindi ka pa kumakain, oo."

He shook his head. "You ARE incredible."

Tumaas ang kilay nito. "Ha?"

"You just forgave me tapos ngayon, you want to feed me too?"

It was her turn to shake her head at him. "Hindi ba mas weird na pinatawad kita tapos hinayaan lang kita magutom?"

She had a point.

"Besides" Maine continued "This is quite early. Most probably nag-kape ka lang."

"Actually, oo."

Tumayo ito mula sa upuan and walked towards the living room. "Oh tara! Pat and I just had our breakfast nung dumating ka. Kumain ka muna."

Hindi na nito inantay kung susunod ba siya o hindi, she headed straight for the kitchen.

Ayaw mag-isip nang sobra ni RJ pero hindi niya mapigilan ang makaramdam nang panliliit.

He really did not expect to be forgiven this easily.

He winced at how much mental strain he had exerted expecting every worst thing in the world.

Dapat siguro e huminga na siya nang malalim pero he had a conscience that recently decided to take over his whole being.

Sumunod siya kay Maine into the kitchen na nakita nya kanina.

She was already busy laying out a plate for him while he smelled the aroma of a new filter on the coffee maker.

"There must be something I can do for you?"

"Wala. Just sit there. And eat."

Of course, she would not immediately catch what he meant.

"I was not talking about breakfast."

Inangat nito ang mata upang titigan ang kanya. "What were you talking about?"
