CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR

No one had the chance to give RJ a lecture.

He bolted for his room as soon as he realized the full impact of what he did and locked the door.

He could not run after her.

Hindi niya kakayanin makita ang takot sa mga mata nito and know that he had done that, he was the cause of that, he was the one who put that there.

Natatakot siya ikonsidera na pwede na totoo nga ang sinabi ni Enzo sa kanya noon – "Kapag mahal mo, sisirain mo nang ganun lang kadali dahil hindi mo makuha?"

Christ.

All he wanted was to be physically closer to Maine since he had not been afforded that opportunity during dinner and he just drove her away, maybe permanently this time.

"HINDI AKO LARUAN RJ FAULKERSON AND I REFUSE TO BE TREATED LIKE ONE! TIGILAN MO NA AKO!"

Winter does not come to this country but when she said that, RJ felt ice grip him.

He knew he won't be able to face anyone of his family as well so at 1 AM, he decided to leave.

The whole house was covered in darkness and he really thought he was home free when a cough from the living room stopped him.

He turned and saw Ruru.

"Just in time Faulkerson."

"Magkasama na kami" Ruru reported to someone over the phone.

"Sinong kausap mo?" he asked.

"Si Derrick."

"At bakit kayo magkausap?" his brow was raised.

"Andun sila sa condo mo."

His future brother-in-law not only gave him an "almost" heart attack but announced to him that he had been waiting in that living room so they could go back to Manila together.

Hindi siya tinanong kung ano ang ginawa niya kay Maine.

Hindi siya pinagalitan.

Sinabi lang nito na sasabay ito pauwi sa kanya but after that phone call, he knew.

He'd see all of his boys and he didn't have a choice about it.

It was almost 2 AM and they were causing a ruckus.

"AKIN NA YUNG 500 KO HUY!" Josh was telling Jake as soon as RJ and Ruru opened the door.

All four men turned towards the new arrivals and Jake stood up from the sofa to perform a head lock on RJ.

"ANONG GINAGAWA MO?!?! ANONG GINAGAWA MO?!?!?!" he shouted at the other guy.

"SINASAKTAN KITA PARA MABAWI KO YUNG PINUSTA KO! INASAHAN KO NA MAS MATATAG KA E! DINENY MO SA AKIN NA MAY NANGYARI SA INYO!" Jake told him as he was hurtled towards the living room where beer was overflowing.

After so long, ngayon na lang ulit ginamit ni Kris ang susi nang unit niya na binigay niya dito. And trust him to bring in cartons of beer cans. GREAT.

"Wala naman kase talagang nangyari sa amin! AT BITAWAN MO AKO OR PAPAALISIN KO KAYONG LAHAT!"

Jake ribbed him and then finally let him go. He massaged his neck due to the pressure.

"Kung akala mo na susunod na si RJ sa yapak ninyo ni Kris na walang seseryosohing babae, mali kayo. Unang kita ko pa lang sa kanila nung writer, may spark na e" Josh smiled like he had won the grand lotto.

RJ was thinking how he'd like to murder him and Jake for betting on his feelings.

"ANONG PINAG-IIISIP NIYONG DALAWA AT PINAGPUSTAHAN NIYO AKO????"
