Gab knew her brother.
He was one of the sweetest and most down to earth guys in the world but she had to admit that after Louise, he started to put more weight in his pride.
If what was going to happen was going to put his ego down in any way possible, hindi ito magdadalawang isip na gawin ang kailangan nito para masigurado na hindi mangyayari yun.
Kaya hindi siya nabigla nang awayin nito ang author na si Maine Mendoza after learning that she will be writing a part two for her book that will involve Gab. She, actually, even anticipated it kaya nga ginagawan niya sana nang paraan na maumpisahan ni Maine ang background nang libro while he was still out of the country.
Nabigla lang siya nang kapatid nang biglang bumalik ito but he unleashing hell on all of them, she counted on.
However, if what Ruru is telling her now is true, she was most intrigued.
"Sigurado ba kayo na hinayaan ni Kuya matulog sa condo niya si Maine?"
Her fiancé nodded. "Inaasar namin siya nung linggo habang nagba-basketball na baka nga kung ano na ang ginawa niya kay Maine pero ang sabi niya, hinayaan niya lang daw matulog at magpahinga bilang lasing na lasing."
"Well... mabuti naman na he is still a gentleman about things like that. Did he say what Maine's reaction was when she woke up?"
"Kilala mo ang kuya mo, hindi na magkukwento yun nang detalye. Sinabi niya lang na agad daw umalis. Siguro nahiya."
"Or natakot kay Kuya."
Tumawa si Ruru. "Hindi malayo."
She bit on her nail as a thought hit her. "Do you think I should call Maine?"
"Ha?"
"Kase Hon... naisip ko lang... bakit kaya siya naglalasing? Naawa naman ako."
"Well... tinanong din namin ang Kuya mo kung may nalaman ba siya nung time na magkasama sila pero sabi niya wala naman daw. Hindi na din daw niya tinanong because it may be personal to her."
"It's just sad, I think. Sa tipo ni Maine from the times we talked to her, I don't think she will go out and drink on her own."
"I agree naman Hon pero maybe we should let Maine talk to us about it – if she wants to – kesa tanungin natin siya? Tama ang Kuya mo, baka nga naman masyadong personal yun."
She remembered that she agreed with Ruru on this but Gab has always had a stubborn streak – lalo na in terms of ensuring that the people she knew were doing fine.
Iilan lang din naman kase talaga ang mga tao na itinuturing niyang kaibigan and even though she and Maine had only known each other for less than a month, pouring your heart out to another person (even though it was just through interviews) was still equivalent to sharing your life with them and the writer has always been such a good listener and sympathizer.
An hour after talking to Ruru, she went out the pool area to call Maine.
Gab wanted to at least be a source of comfort for the other woman.
Louise was waiting for her uber ride nang makita ni Maine that Gab was calling her.
Near panic, she immediately hid her phone as Louise kissed her goodbye.
Hindi pa rin kase niya nagawang sabihin dito ang tungkol sa ikalawang libro na isinusulat niya and after their talk, she thought na aantayin muna niya na maging maayos ito at si Enzo before she sprang the news to them.
