Once we were officially alone, I could feel how akward it was in the room. My former dad had his arm around former mother waist. It was a picture perfect mom and dad moment, if they didn't look like they saw a ghost.
"Well," I finally said," It is so nice to finally meet the people who wanted to give me up. Tell me did you give me up because I was good enough or were you just not ready for that kind of responsibility?" The end of it came out sarcastically as I sat down in my father's office chair.
Fang looked at Max then at me," I don't know what they told you and filed your head with but we didn't give you up."
I gave a small chuckle, " Of course you would say that now. I would too, when I felt guilty. "
Max moved out of the comfort of her husband's touch, " You were stolen from us Phoenix. When you were around four. Don't you remember?"
At that point a memory flooded back to me. I was sitting in a wooden crib and the window was open, but that was as far as the memory went. That didn't help their case. Nothing would.
I went to speak, but dear daddy cut me off, "Why would we give you up? After all the crap we have been thriufh, why would we put that on top of someone else?"

I moved closer to my daughter, my daughter that came back from the dead, "After we lost you, we searched and searched for you. We thought they killed you."
I saw her expression change from anger to confusion but it was only for a split second," How can I believe you? Why should I believe you? You could be easily say anything you can to make me help you. Most people wouldn't stop looking until they found the child, dead or alive!"
Fang roughly slammed his hands on the desk, making both of us jump, "Maybe we didn't want to find you dead! We could barely handle the thought of you being dead!"
Phoenix leaned closer to Fang, "Would you have rather have found me then thunk I was dead?! You went so many years thinking I was dead but I wasn't! I was right her alive and breathing!"
Then Phoenix through herself out of the chair and went to the door. Before she opened she looked over her shoulder back at us, " If any of the other kids would have went missing, would you have stopped searching?"
