Chapter 48 ~ Salvation?

It felt like the door was so far away. I couldn't see it but I knew it had to be there. We were all running hoping that we could put our trust in these people. These rebels.
Fang was in front of me. My sons besided me. Iggy and Ace behind us. My daughter bounced in my arms confused at what was going on.
We took the corner leading right and stopped in our tracks.
Pheniox stood in the middle of the hallway with a smug smile on her face.

Max handed Raven to Alex, "Go. All of you get out. We will be right behind you."
Alex and Jebidiah turned to look at me waiting for me to tell them the same thing. I just nodded my head.
They all moved foward and Pheniox let them. She wasn't here for them. She was here for us.
Jebidiah
We all started running a little slower hoping that my parents would get done with Pheniox fast but that didn't look like the case.
"Stormy how much farther?" I asked almost a little out of breath
Stormy looked over her shoulder at me, " We should be at the front of the building any minute now."
A crash came from a hallway on the left. Four eraser came stomping at us.
Iggy stopped and faced the creatures as best he could, " You guys keep going I'll catch up."
Ace stopped and went to his dad's, " I'm staying too, " he turned to us," Don't worry we will be okay. Just worry about getting your sister out of here. We will be right behind you."
As the erazers came closer we had no choice but to keep going, leaving two more behind.
Ace
"Well," I gave a short laugh as my dad pulled two grenades out of his jacket pocket, " this is one strange father son moment."
"Yeah just don't tell your mom. She thinks we are visiting so Fang and I could hang out and you could meet your cousins."
We both laughed as the erazers came towards us. I pulled the pin off my grenade," Remind me to be busy when you guys wanna have a real family reunion."
