Jane's P.O.V

It's almost time for lunch. Liam and I are having lunch together. I'm excited about it because we've been crazy busy with work, spending time with Ian we haven't had much time to date. We just finished a meeting with an organization that wants our company to sponsor them.

We worked out of the conference room, and I followed Liam to his office.

"I guess that wasn't that bad. The organization is about helping students with jobs and after school program, which is really amazing so let's go for it. It's one of the things you love to do." Liam said while opening the door to his office for me to enter.

I made myself comfortable on the chair.

"Yeah, it's pretty amazing. They have shown us what they have accomplished so far. I think it's a good way of giving back to the community. Let's go for it." I replied twirling my neck to ease the little pain I felt. Liam walked towards me immediately, helping me massage my shoulders.

I let out a sigh of relief. "Hm... I love you." I said making the both of us laugh at the same time.

"So lunch?" Liam asked letting go of my shoulders. He walked around his desk to his seat.

"Yes, I'm starving!" I answered. Before we could reach the door Ella walked in without knocking like she owned the place.

What the hell.

She glared at me. "Oh you're here" She said bitterly like I don't have the right to be.

"Shouldn't I be the one saying that." I said loud enough for her to hear, she smiled bitterly. Liam gave a look warning me.

"Ella, do you need something?" Liam asked with a smile on his face.

"Yeah, I thought we could do lunch just to fill you in on the project." She said smiling at Liam.

Wow! That's what she could come up with.

I answered her before Liam could.

"Ella, Stella, sweetheart, I believe that's my job. My team and I are in charge of the project. If you need to see anyone about the project it should be the C.O.O, which is me. Let the C.O.O worry about reporting or 'filling' the C.E.O in about the project. I would love for us to respect each other and our space Ms. Mancini. And try not to do my job for me." I said as nice as I could with a smile.

I could see she's about to pull out all her hair. I couldn't help but put on a victorious smile. She cleared her throat.

I can't wait for this project to be over so she can go back to the hole she came from.

"I just wanted to help" She replied with a fake smile on. "Well, I appreciate your helpful thoughts. Thanks for your help, but I would love to do my job by myself. Please let's work together as partners on this project to achieve a good result by focusing on our individual jobs." I smiled at her while she gave me crazy looks.

"I agree." She said bitterly.

"We were just on our way out for lunch. Will you like to join us, Ms. Mancini?" I asked nicely holding Liam's arm.

"Yeah, you can join us." Liam added. She looked at me and looked at my arm around Liam's.

"No, thank you. I just remembered I have a lunch meeting with my team." She said.

That's what I thought.

Foolish and naive Jane died after she was shot. I'm not gonna let another Britney's situation repeat itself.

I'm not gonna apologize for acting bitchy when I need to.

I'm gonna start speaking my mind with no filter.

She was about to leave, but I stopped her.

"Ms. Mancini, please knock next time. It's part of good manners." I said and she walked out.

"Don't even" I said to Liam knowing exactly what he was gonna say. 'Why are you rude to her' 'She was being nice' 'You don't need all that'

I twirl my head just to see him smiling at me gently. A smile that shows understanding.

"Shall we?" He asked holding my hand firmly and we walked out closing the door behind us.

Liam's P.O.V

I couldn't help but stare at her while she ate. I'm starting to understand her more. I used to be disappointed that the naive and sweet Jane I fell for years ago is slowly leaving, but I'm starting to understand why.

It's all because of me, because of my mistakes. Because of our world. Everything I've put her through has changed her into who she is now.

She can be mean and straightforward, but still the lovely girl I fall in love with every day and will still continue to love for whatever she is and whoever she becomes.

She's my love and I'll never give up on that.

She stopped eating to look up. She stared at me.

"Why are you looking at me like that? Is it because of what I said to her? I'm not gonna apologize for it." She said looking at anything else but my eyes.

I chuckled. "I never asked you to. I was just staring at you because you're beautiful and I love you." I smiled at her, but she only looked confused.

She dropped her fork and sighed.

"It's unfair. Are you trying to guilt me into apologizing? I'm really not gonna apologize to her or to you." She said trying to be stubborn, but I know deep inside she feels bad. I don't want her to feel bad.

"You don't have to feel bad or apologize. Can't I compliment my wife and tell her I love her. I love you." I said grinning.

"Liam, you're scaring me. Just say what's on your mind. Tell me how mean I was and how disappointed you are." She said clearly feeling bad.

"I'm not disappointed. I'm just learning to accept the new Jane." I said smiling mischievously.

"So you're saying I've gone bad?" She said pouting. I just shrugged my shoulders.

She's so cute.

"Liam..."She didn't stop pouting.

"Finish your lunch so we can head back to work" I said pointing at her food. "Liam..." She called again making me smile.

"I love you" I said one more time.

"Okay, you've said that three times now. Do I need to run, beg or call a Doctor?" She asked seriously, making me laugh.

"How about saying it back." I said standing up from my chair to give her a kiss.

She smiled. There you go, that's my girl.
