Chapter 14-- Foe

Jane's P.O.V

I wasn't satisfied with Liam's answer, so I decided to ask Liana during my lunch with her. I will call Logan to ask about Ella or Stella. I feel like there's something Liam isn't telling me.

"Hey sis!" Liana said giving me a hug before having her seat. "Hey..." I replied with a smile. "What's up? Hope everything is alright?" She asked looking at the menu.

"Yeah, I just wanted to see you because it's been a while since we hung out. You told me you were gonna be free today so why not have lunch with my fav" I said sincerely making her smile.

We talked about work and friends while we ate. And I thought it was time to bring it up.

"So... um... I wanted to ask you something" I said and took a sip of my water. "Yeah what's up?" She asked. "Does the name Ella ring a bell." I asked carefully. "Ella..." She thought about it carefully then she smirked like she remembered something.

"Oh! Ella! What do you wanna know? Did Liam finally tell you about his first love." She said while eating.

"What? First love?" I asked almost spitting out my food. She shook her head while eating. "Yeah, we all grew up together. Ella was a sweet girl and everyone loved her, but there was something sneaky about her. I wasn't a big fan, but she was really cool. I remember her being an attention seeker, and she really loved taking credits even for things she didn't do. Most people knew her as a really sweet girl who couldn't hurt a fly or tell a lie." She said nonchalantly and continued eating.

I can't help but hate Ella. Why do I feel threatened?

"Ah... yeah I remember she was particularly close to Liam while we were growing up. They were each other's prom date, went to the same college. I think they dated, and everyone definitely thought they would end up getting married, even both of our parents loved the idea. My dad thought she would be a great career woman, and a great wife for Liam when he takes over the company. Mom also thought she would make a great mother and wife." She continued without  planning on stopping, while I was trying not to choke on my food.

And Liam told me they were 'just friends', meanwhile others were planning their wedding.

"I never thought I would hear that name again after she disappeared a year after their college graduation. Why do you ask?" She said.

I stared at my plate, playing with my food.

"Jane, is everything okay?" She asked again.

"She's back, and I think she's back for good." I whispered loud enough for Liana to hear.

"What? Who?" She asked.

"Ella" I said

"Ella is back!?"She said completely surprised.

After my dinner with Liana, I called Logan to ask him. He said the same thing. The only different thing he said was that he was sure they dated for a long time.

I don't feel at ease for three different reasons

First, why did Liam lie to me about her?

Second, I don't know her motive or her goal.

Third, Liam still seem to trust her so much.

But first thing first, I'm gonna kill Liam for lying to me.

I got home and I was told Ian went out with Logan. Perfect, I have a little time to yell at Liam.

"Hey babe, how was lunch?" Liam said trying to kiss me but I stopped him. "What's wrong?" He asked confused.
