"I don't think I can do this," Mark said nervously as you two stopped in front of your house. "This is our first New Year together with your family. This is going to be the first time I'm meeting them! What if they don't like me?"
You started laugh. "Oh c'mon Mark! They liked you before they even met you. They liked you before we even started dating... or met. Besides, how can you not like Mark Tuan? He's perfect." You wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled him close as he held you by your waist. You were about to kiss when the front door sung opened and your family ran out to say hi.
"Everyone, meet by boyfriend, Mark. Mark, meet everyone." You introduced Mark to each of your family members.
Everyone went in. We gathered in the living room. Like you and your family always do, you guys told stories of the past.
"____ used to go boy crazy," said your cousin Jennifer. "She liked all of the Korean guys. Everday she listened to kpop. She used to talk about you all of the time and how badly she wanted to meet you. She was delusional at one point that she was dating you."
"I was not!" you laughed. "I did not," you said to Mark as he smiled. "I... was just... confident."
"Confident?" smiled Mark.
"I liked you before I even met you. And I thought, if it's meant to be, then let it be. If we were meant to be together, there is a way for us to meet. And there was a way. Fate found a path that helped me lead to you."
"So cheesey!" shouted your cousins.
Everyone laughed.
"We never thought she would end up dating you," said your other cousin, Andy.
"What can I say?" chuckled Mark. "Life is full of unexpected moments. Meeting ____ was unexpected, and so was falling for her."
You grabbed Mark's hand and place your head on his shoulder. "I am just that amazing," you said. "Whatever I put my mind and heart, to it usually turn out the way I want it to. By the way, mom, grandpa, grandma, Mark was nervous about meeting you, and feeling his shaking hands, I think he still is." You lifted your head off of his shoulder. "So do you approve of him?"
"____!" said Mark. "Too straight forward!"
You smiled. "Oh don't be shy!"
"He's a good man," said my grandma and you translated into English for Mark to understand.
"You picked a good man," said your mom. "Mark, take care of her."
"She may try to act tough, but she's actually weak," said Andy.
"It's okay," said Mark as he looked at you. "I'll be by her side and take care of her. I'm going to make sure I'm the one she leans on when she falls. Do you know what that means, ____?"
You didn't answered. You just continued to look into Mark's loving eyes.
"Trust me with everything, because no matter, I will always be there for you."
"Do you really love my daughter?" asked your mom.
"I do," he answered.
"She's a picky eater."
"Then I'll be there to eat whatever she doesn't want to eat, and give her all the things she wants to eat."
"She can't cook."
"Then I'll cook for us."
"She has walls up," said Jennifer.
"I'll be the one to go through it, and hopefully only me."
It was time for the count down. Everyone count down and cheered once the clock stricked 12. Out of nowhere, Mark kneeled down on one knee and pulled out a ring.
"____, it's a new year and I want to become a better person. To do that, I need you by my side, because I'm better when I'm with you. I want to always be better with you. So will you make me the luckest man alive and marry me?"
You were over joyed. "Mark," you said trying to stay calm. "Do you really want to marry? Do you really want to marry someone who doesn't love herself?"
"To be honest, I don't understand how someone as amazing as you have trouble accepting herslef, but it's fine. I can love you for the both of us. I love you and I want to be the one by your side."
"Say yes before it's no longer 12!" said my family members.
"Yes!" you cried happily. "Yes, yes, yes!"
Mark put the ring on your finger and lift you up as he spinned you around. He put you down on your feet and pulled you in for a kiss. The clocked turned 12:01 and everyone celebrated. "Everyone," said Mark. "I just wanted to say, thanking for welcoming me into the family, and accepting me. I'm really excited to get to know everyone."
"To warn you," you said. "You're pulling yourself into crazy town, because my family are crazy.
Mark smiled as he put an arm around your shoulders and you put an arm around his waist. "They can't be crazy as GOT7."
You laughed. "True." You kissed Mark on the cheek. "You do know the guys are going to kill you when we get back right? You proposed without them here."
Mark realized the truth behind what you just said. He looked at you. "Maybe we should marry now before I die in Korea."
You laughed before tip toeing and kissing Mark on the lips.
