It was the Friday before Mother's Day. You drove to Mark's house. When you got there, you bumped into Tammy.

"____! Thank God you're here!" said Tammy. "I just got called in for work but today there is some Mother's Day party thing at Kylie's school. Can you go for me please?"

You smiled. "Of course! You go ahead and go to work."

"Thank you so much! It starts at 10!" You watched as Tammy rushed into her car and drove off.

Mark came out. "Hey!" he smiled.

"Tammy just asked me to go to a Mother's Day party for her," you said. "Take me?"

"I'd to anything to spend as much time as I can with you."

Mark drove you to Kylie's school. You walked into the classroom holding hands. You let go of Mark's hand when Kylie ran over. You squat down with your arms open to hug her.

"Hi Kylie!" you smiled. "Kylie, I'm sorry but mommy could not make it today, so me and uncle Mark came, okay?"

She nodded with a big smile.

Her teacher walked over. "Hi! Welcome! Are you a relative if Kylie?"

"Hello," you smiled. "I am... a family friend. Her mom couldn't make it last minute so she asked me to come. I hope it's okay. I also brought Kylie's uncle with me."

"The more the merrier! Welcome!"

Kylie grabbed your hand and walked you over to her group of friends. You sat with the kids and "played" with them. Every once in a while when you look at Mark, you catch him staring at you with a huge smile.

"She gets along with children so well," Kylie's teacher said to Mark.

"Yeah," smiled Mark. "She have always wanted to be a teacher."

"She would make a great one. We need more teachers like her."

"She's amazing."

You spend the day with Kylie and her little friends as Mark can't help but watch from the distance, happy to see that smile on your face.

After the party was over, you and Mark took Kylie home. On the drive home, Mark turned on some music and you and Kylie sang your hearts away.

Soon Kylie fell asleep.

"She's so cute!" you smiled as you look back to see Kylie.

At the red light, Mark stared at you.

"What?" you asked. "You've been looking at me like that all day."

"I can't help it," said Mark. "Seeing you with all those kids... I can't wait until we get to attend our own daughter's school parties together. I really want the future to come quick so I can take care of both you and our daughter."

"Mark Tuan! Is that a proposal?"

"It's a promise." He interlock his hands with yours as he used the other hand to steer. Mark started driving again when the light turned green.

You placed your head on his shoulder while your hands are still interlock. "It can't wait too."

Mark pulled into a grocery store's parking lot. "Tammy asked me to buy a carton of milk."

"Let's go together."

"I'll wake up Kylie."

The two of you got out of the car and Mark woke up Kylie. She woke up with a smile. The three of you walked into the store. While Mark grabbed a carton of milk from the fridge, a familiar voice called for you.

"____!" said your ex-boyfriend, Tony.

"Tony?" you said, suprised to see him.

"Wow! It's been so long!"

"7 years."

"Yeah. You look great." He suddenly noticed Kylie stepping out from behind you as she grabbed your hand. Mark walked over and stood next to us. "W-Wow! You already have a family?" He said, disappointed.

"What!? N-No! She's not my daughter. Um... this is Mark, my boyfriend and his niece."

"Boyfriend?"

Mark put his arm around you.

"Mark, this is Tony... my ex-boyfriend," you said.

"It's nice to meet you," said Tony, but Mark didn't reply.

"Well, _____, it was great seeing you again," said Tony.

"Yeah. Great to see you too." You watched Tony walked away.

"was he the ex boyfriend that cheated on you?" asked Mark.

"No. He was my high school boyfriend. He was my longest relationship. 3 years."

"Did he do something wrong?"

"No. We broke up beacuse I moved. The distance wasn't working."

"So not because he was a jerk."

"Tony was a great guy from what I remember." You noticed Mark's insecurity. "Mark, we were just talking about attending our future daughter's school parties. You don't seriously think..."

"____, are you going to marry Tony?" asked Kylie.

You smiled. "No sweetie. I am going to marry your uncle Mark."

"Good!" she said.

"That is, if he ask me to."

Mark was happy by your answer. "You know it will be soon."

The three of you continued your shopping.

"I want a son by the way," you said.

"What? No way! I want a daughter," said Mark.

"But I want a cute son who will grow up like his dad."

"I want a beautiful daughter to grow up like her mother."

"How about we have two? A boy and a girl."

"How about we have 11?"

"How about we not? Don't forget who's the one who will be pushing the baby out in this relationship."

"Then push out some and adopt some."

You laughed. "Shut up. You act Ike it's so easy."

"Push the baby out where?" asked Kylie.

You and Mark looked at each other.

"It's all you," you said as you walked away, leaving the awkward situation to Mark.
