It Needs to Happen

Chapter 4

Josh POV

Colleen is halfway through her tour and we talk many times a day and I miss her like crazy. I am following all the fan pics on Twitter and love seeing her shows. I notice lots of pictures of her and Ryan, her new road manager together. It is driving me crazy. He is a really good looking guy. I haven't met him in person yet but Colleen speaks fondly of him. I see him smile at her in the still shots and it erks me to no end. She phones tonight and I don't even answer so she texts me and tells me she loves me and to call her asap. I am not in the mood after seeing everything and the last thing I want to do is get into a fight over the phone.I try to calm myself down by writing some music for a little. She keeps calling and texting and finally I reply back that I am at Matt's house . It is an 8 hour time difference to California so she says goodnight. I can tell she is upset. I am being stupid and call her back after 3 hours of delaying a conversation. "Hey baby" I say quietly as its 1am there. "Hi" she says crying. "Why are you crying sweetheart?" I ask concerned now and feeling like a total ass for not calling her back earlier. "I will tell you when I get back" she says. "Colleen please babe" I beg. "Our dream is coming true" she says. "What dream?" I ask confused. "Lets put it this way, you have 9 months of freedom left" she says. I drop my phone and start sobbing. We did it. We are having a baby. I can hear her talking but I can't speak. "Joshua" she says giggling. "Happy baby?" she asks. "Colleen I love you. Yes! I am so thrilled. I am cancelling the rest of my schedule. I am coming to wherever you are" I say. "Really?" she asks. "That would be wonderful. I am so sick in the mornings" she says. "I am in Amsterdam, Holland babe starting tomorrow for three days" she says. "I will text you my flight info sweetheart" I say sobbing still. "Ok Joshua. I love you" she says. I hang up and smile and sob and smile. I am going to be a Daddy.

I land in Amsterdam in the late morning the next day. I slept the entire flight there after taking some sleeping pills so I could be on Europe time and not feel the jet lag as bad. Rachel picks me up from the airport and we quickly drive away. "Where is Colleen?" I asked shocked she didn't come to pick me up too. "Josh, she is barfing her guts out every morning. It's terrible" she says. "Oh no. Should we call a doctor?" I ask. "I was thinking of doing that but thought you should make that call" she says as we pull up to the hotel and park. I am so excited to see my Colleen but worried at the same time.
