It Needs to Happen

Chapter 14

Josh POV

The doctor comes back and checks her and her fever has gone down and the belly is less sore. "You look so much better than you did 2 hours ago" the doctor says. "I feel better. Thank you" Colleen says smiling. "Colleen you may have an antibody in your blood stream that thinks there is something wrong and is trying to attack the baby. It thinks its foreign" she says to Colleen. "I am going to take some blood and check ok?" she says as she draws blood out of Colleen and labels it. "I will call you tonight when I get back the results. If my theory is correct then you need to get this anti rejection shot every day without missing a day" The doctor says writing out a prescription. "Ok for the whole pregnancy?" I ask taking the slip of paper from her. She nods. "Yes the entire pregnancy but wait to get it filled until I hear back the results" she continues. We both nod. "Colleen there is a negative to this injection. It will affect your heart murmur" she says. "How?" I ask terrified. "It will make you more tired as it slows down your heartbeat" she says looking at me. "I don't care. This needs to happen. I have to have this baby" Colleen says adimently. "Babe this is your heartbeat" I say. "Joshua don't" she says sitting up. "Ok I will call you later" the doctor says standing up to leave. I walk her out and find Colleen in the shower when I return. "I have like 45 minutes til everyone is here" she says. "Are you ok babe?" I ask talking to her through the glass door. She nods. I sit down on the tub ledge and think about Colleen and her safety. This is so negative towards her health. "Joshua I can hear you thinking. I will be fine" She shouts from the shower. I nod. She comes out of the shower and races to our closet as she dries off. She puts on a purple spaghetti strap silk romper. "You look beautiful baby" I say hugging her. I bury my face in her wet hair and try to relax. She kisses my neck and then does her hair and makeup. She is perfection. "No one can see the baby in this outfit" she says giggling. "Baby, tell me if you don't feel well. I am worried" I say rubbing her cheek. "I will. Now lets celebrate ok?" she says staring into my eyes. I nod and take her hand and make our way out to the kitchen to grab the last few things as the caterer arrives.

Colleen is glowing the rest of the afternoon and everyone is having a great time. Everyone thinks we are celebrating Colleen hitting 5 million subscribers and my 3 million. Little do they know.

"Everyone?" Colleen says standing on a chair as I nervously watch her. "We have some news" she says. I look over at my parents on Facetime and around the room at her family. Gwen is covering her mouth. "We will be adding to the Evans family in 6 months" she says rubbing her belly smiling from ear to ear. Everyone is hollering and run to hug us as everyone here knows we have been trying for years. Gwen is sobbing into Colleens shoulder and then into mine. "You made my little girls dreams come true" she says. "She made mine come true Gwen" I say smiling.
