It Needs to Happen

Chapter 6

Josh POV

The next morning Colleen is missing from bed. I hear her breathing heavy from the bathroom and I walk in to see Colleen holding her head in her hands leaning on the toilet. "Babe" I say rubbing her back. "Josh call a doctor. I can't do this" she says. I grab Colleens phone and call Ryan. He is her road manager and takes care of her. "Ryan, its Josh. Can you call us a doctor for Colleen. An OBGYN if possible" I ask. "Sure thing" he says and hangs up. "Ryan is working on it" I say softly to her. "Lets shower babe. Might feel really good ok?" I suggest. She nods and I take her tank top and underwear off and I throw my boxers to the ground. I turn the water on and step in first and bring her in with me. She stands leaning against me as I sway back and forth kissing the top of her head letting the water pounds on us. "I love you Josh" she whispers. "Colleen I love you babe so much" I say hugging her. I start washing her hair and help hold her as she washes herself. I finish up my shower and we both wrap ourselves up in big towels as we step out. I look at Colleens cell and Ryan texted that a doctor will be up in 20 minutes. "20 minutes baby ok?" I say to Colleen. She nods and wanders back to the bed slowly as I follow her. I grab her a clean T-shirt and throw it on her. I throw some track pants and a sweatshirt on myself and sit behind her to brush her hair through. Every brush I make her head hangs back further. I look at her face and she is falling asleep. I lay her down and cover her and sit beside her.
The doctor shows up and quietly enters the room. "Hi Colleen, I am Dr.Enders. Whats the problem?" She asks crouching beside her. "I just found out I am pregnant and I am so sick everyday for hours at a time. Is there anything you can give me?" Colleen asks. "Sure but can I examine you first?" She asks. Colleen nods. I remove her covers and the doctor feels around her stomach as we both watch her. She takes her temperature and blood pressure. She also takes some blood. She does a hormone level test. "You are almost 6 weeks along Colleen. Congrats to you both" she says. "We tried for over two years" Colleen says crying. "I am so happy for you two" she says. I grab Colleens hand and watch the doctor get an injection ready. "I am going to give you some Diclectin. Its the only safe thing that is recognized worldwide for morning sickness. It is Vitamin B and an antihistamine but it works." She says. "Perfect hey baby?" I say towards Colleen.  She nods and smiles. "You can take the pills format every night for the next 6 weeks after this wears off. It will take a few days to get that flowing through your blood stream but you will feel better" she says. She gives the injection to Colleen and we say goodbye to her. Colleen snuggles in my arms as she sleeps until there is a knock at the door.
