Chapter 61

Colleen POV

I know I am overreacting but my emotions are on fire right now. I throw on some clothes and leave our room before Josh comes out of the bathroom. I walk down the hall and see my Mom sitting with Noah in her arms. "Colleen, Josh loves you darling. He is taking care of you" she says reading my face. I don't say a word. "Colleen Mae" she says to me getting my attention. "He doesn't want you to be stressed" she says. I nod and I see Josh enter the room as we both look at him. He searches my eyes for a truce. I look away. It is killing him when we fight but I feel so low. I am not succeeding with anything. Just then I hear Josh's phone ring. He picks it up and walks towards the kitchen. I hear him happily talking. I try to figure out who it is but I can't. He comes back after his conversation and sits beside me. "Who was that Josh?" my mom asks. "Julien. Just checking in. He is having a guys night tonight and wanted to know if I can drop by" Josh says. "You should go Josh. Get out for a bit while I am here" my mom says. "Naaaa" he says. I grab his hand. "Go Joshua. Go have fun" I say watching his face. "I want to stay here with you guys" he says getting emotional. "We will be here when you get back" I say. "Are you sure sweetie?" he asks with tears. "Go. Maybe I will be rational when you get back" I say jokingly. He smiles and grabs my face. He turns to my Mom. "Sorry Gwen, I have to kiss your daughter" he says laughing. "I won't look" she says laughing as she puts her hand over her eyes. He leans in and kisses me so sweetly. I close my eyes enjoying every split second. It was powerful. As if it was our last kiss. I pull away and stare at him. "Love you" He whispers as I lean my head against his. "I will be home in 2 hours babe ok?" he says. I nod and let him go get ready. He deserves some fun outside of these four walls. A few minutes later I see him walk down the hall towards the garage door. He stops and waves as he leaves. I lay back on the couch with Noah as my Mom grabs Lily. I need to relax and settle my thoughts. I feel Noah sleeping on me and it makes my heart happy. He is bringing me back to reality. I hear my phone start to vibrate a few hours later as it buzzes on my coffee table. I reach for it and quietly say hello. I feel my heart stop. I drop my phone and hear my mom calling my name as my entire world stops. I am breaking into a million pieces.
