Chapter 33

Colleen POV

My heart gave out again in the shower. I am on new meds now and feel so much better and am leaving the hospital today. The doctor told me all about what I can and can't do when he checked on me this morning and privately told me that a new baby is not a good idea when I asked him. I haven't told Josh. I see Josh come through the doorway pushing a stroller smiling. "We are here to pick you up" he says rolling towards me. He leans in and kisses me and I then kiss Lilly. She is amazing. "Saw the doctor this morning. Said I was all good" I say as I hold up my prescription. "Wish I got to talk to him. I wanted to ask a few questions" he says as he zips up my bag. "like?" I ask. "Well I wanted to know what your limitations are and how long until we come back to get your stitches out in your head" he says. "He said come back in 7 days told me to take it easy is all" I say. "I have heard that before from you and it never happens" he says watching me. "That was a nice thing to say" I say sarcastically. "Babe you are always go,go, go" he says grabbing my hand. "You have a heart condition now" he says kissing my cheek. I nod and we walk out as a family and put aside my worries for another day.

Life carries on at home. I take it easy and look after Lily with Josh. I am sitting beside Lily as she lays in her baby bathtub. I am humming as I wash her. I scoop her out and lay her on the towel as I carry her out of the bath towards her bedroom. I see Josh pulling out a onesie out of Lilys dresser. "There's my ladies" he says holding up a tiny purple onesie. "I ordered this for her online" he says. He turns it around and it has LILY in rhinestones written on the back. "Oh my god Josh it is so cute" I say laying Lily down as he brings it over. I put a clean diaper on her and lotion her up. She loves being massaged. I start laughing. Josh is laughing as well kissing her forehead. I put her diaper shirt on and then her new onesie. I scoop her up as Josh pulls a blanket around her. We walk out together and down the stairs. "I love my life" Josh says getting emotional watching us. "Me too baby. Me too" I say. We lean in and kiss each other. Perfection.
