Chapter 37

Colleen POV

I wake up a week later and feel so sick. I run to the bathroom and start vomiting. Josh runs in after me and kneels beside me. His hands calm me as they rub my back. I take a breather and lay against him. "So sick babe" he says quietly. I nod. I start to get up afer a few moments but grab onto Josh breathing heavy. "Colleen whats going on?"he asks. "So overtired. Need bed" I say. He brings me to lay down and kneels on the ground beside me. I am laying on my side staring at him until he bends into my stomach and kisses it. I grab the back of his head and smile as he does that. "Love that you are carrying our baby" he says crying. "Josh I am emotional as it is. Don't get me going" I say giggling as I laugh. We are both in tears. "Just want to make sure you are ok Colleen" he says staring at me. "This is normal stuff Josh. Not to worry" I say. He nods and kisses my forehead and leaves me to sleep after recovering me.
I wake up a time later and know I am going to be sick. "Josh!" I scream. Something feels wrong. I hear him running down the hall. "Baby?" He says worriedly. "I can't walk babe. I need to throw up" I say crying. He scoops me up and we run to the bathroom. I barely make it. I don't stop. "Colleen you are throwing up blood baby" he says crying. He calls Rachel to come over and look after Lily. I am laying on his lap on the bathroom floor until I hear her talking above me. "She is throwing up blood" Josh says to her. Rachel bends down to me. "I know you don't want to hear this but Colleen maybe Lily is enough" she says grabbing my hand. I nod as I sit up. Josh is kissing my head as I stand up. I lean over the toilet again throwing up nothing but heaving. My body won't stop. I feel Rachel sitting beside me on my other side until I throw up blood again. Its coming out of my nose. "Thats it" he says. They both pick me up and race me our to the car as Rachel stays behind to watch Lily. "Baby....think about what Rachel said ok?" Josh says. I have my eyes closed as he grabs my hand. I feel him stop the car and rushes me in. They start doing tests on me and determine that the injections are breaking down my esophagus and heart muscles. They are attacking my own organs and body parts. "Mr Evans we need to stop the injections totally. It will literally kill her" the doctor says to him beside me. He nods and stares at me. I start to cry. I will die if I continue them and then we both loose our lives. "What happens to the baby?" Josh asks. "We let nature take its course. I am so sorry" the doctor says before turning to walk out the door.
