Josh POV

Colleen wants the tubes out now. I am not so sure she is ready. "Is she ok enough to breathe on her own?" I ask the doctor in the hallway. "We will see Josh. She seems pretty stable. She will need surgery in a few days to help repair her muscles around her heart but she should be good" he says as he opens the door to Colleens room. I see Colleen look at me and I walk to her side. "Ready Colleen?" the doctor asks her as he switches some machines off. She nods. He pulls the tubes out of her throat after they sit her up. She starts coughing a bit but seems ok. She sighs and smiles. "Hi baby" she whispers to me. It melts my heart completely. I see the doctor lower her gown and checks her heart rate as we both remain silent watching. "Stay in bed today Colleen. No walking today" he says. "Ok" she says as Betty the nurse gives her water. They hook her up to a pulse monitor and leave the room. I lay down on her hugging her as her arms come around me. "Love you baby" I say kissing her neck. She rubs the back of my head kissing into my hair. "Love you more babe" she says. "I need a popsicle" she says giggling. I nod and grab one from her fridge. "How is Noah?" she asks. "He is fine babe. I saw him this morning" I say smiling. "Can't hold him yet" I add. She nods. "My body really knows how to screw things up" she giggles licking her popsicle. "Just doesn't like being pregnant. So from now on we will just practice the art of making a baby without doing so" I add laughing. She reaches for my face. "Your hands are cold sweetie" I say holding them. "Its the popsicle" she says. "I don't think it is" I say ringing for the nurse as I reach down and feel her feet. They are freezing too. Betty walks in smiling and I tell her what seems to be wrong. She checks Colleen and gets a heated blanket while I throw some socks on her feet. Colleen snuggles into the heated blanket and smiles at me. She is pale. I see Betty looking at her monitor tediously. "Is she ok?" I ask. "Just going to watch her" Betty says before leaving the room. I sit beside her and watch her sleep holding my hand. My heart is breaking watching her struggle. Her face gets paler until finally I hear Betty and the doctor come in to check on her. "Her monitors went off at our nurses station" Betty says. I nod gulping as I do. "Just going to put on some oxygen with these nasal prongs. Her blood flow isn't perfect. Seems to be slowing down" the doctor says. I am terrified.
