Josh POV

Colleen's back is much better so she is more mobile on her crutches. I follow behind her as I don't want her to fall. We go slowly to the kitchen and she pours a coffee. "Can you bring my coffee to the table babe?" She asks. I bring her coffee as she sits slowly. "What can I get you to eat?" I ask. "Nothing" she says. "Colleen you need to eat for the baby" I say. "A piece of toast" she says. I shake my head and make her a piece and pass her a banana. She picks at it as I sit beside her. I grab her hand. "You ok?" I ask. She nods and smiles. I run my fingers through her hair. She starts tearing up. "Baby?" I ask. "Just keep thinking about it" she says. "He is gone babe. He won't be back" I say. She nods. "Need to think about this baby" I say rubbing her belly. "You are nearly past the first trimester" I say. "You are right baby" she says. She leans in for a kiss and I kiss her back passionately. I stand up and pull her up to me as she balances on one leg and I hold her up. I kiss her as she wraps tighter around me. "Need you baby" she says. I pick her up and carry her back into our bedroom and we make love. We both needed each other so bad.

Colleen is now out of her cast weeks later and we are back to check on the baby and find out the gender. Colleen is laying there rubbing her belly and holding my hand with the other. "Hey guys" the doctor says. "Hi" Colleen and I both say in unison. "Just going to do the norm" he says checking her heartbeat and taking some blood. The nurse takes the blood from him and leaves the room as the ultrasound comes out. "Ok lets check the baby" he says smiling at us. He rolls it over Colleen. "Two arms and legs" he says smiling. "There is the heartbeat" he says to us pointing at the screen. "Wow" Colleen says grabbing me tighter. "I can tell what it is. Want me to write it down and put it in an envelope?" He asks. "Yes, we want to open it with family" Colleen says as I grin ear to ear. He writes it down and hands it to me. He continues on with examining and measuring Colleen as the nurse walks back in. He grabs the sheet from her and he looks at us. "Antibodies are high" he says. Colleen starts crying. "What can we do?" I ask. "We need to wipe them all out but it will weaken Colleens immune system. Very dangerous" he says. "Do it" Colleen says. "Baby I..." I start to say. "Whatever it takes" Colleen says looking at me. "Colleen you will be like a chemo patient. Your immune system will not be able to fight off anything. You need to stay home and away from germs entirely" he says. She nods strongly. "Josh stay strong" she says puckering up for a kiss. I lean in and kiss her as I am sick to my stomach with worry.
