Chapter 75

Colleen POV

"Kory!" I semi yell into the phone. "Whats wrong Colleen? Is it Lily?" Kory asks. "Kory, please go to my house and check on Joshua. I just phoned him and told him Lily was bleeding and he is devastated and blaming himself. I don't want him to do something stupid" I cry. "Ok I will go there now" I" he says. "I would go but I am the only one here for Lily. Rachel is coming here now to sit with her now that Lily is fine again. I will meet you there " I say sobbing. "Colleen.... Calm down. I will call you from your house" he says.

Kory POV

I pull up to the house and grab my set of keys to their house as I race up to the door. I unlock it and it is so quiet. "Josh?" I yell. Nothing. I run through the main floor and don't find him anywhere so I bolt up the stairs. "Josh?" I yell as I check each room. Finally I reach the master bedroom. I knock and get no answer. I slowly walk in and look around. He isn't here. I step out the balcony doors and see Josh sitting on the back grass facing to the rear of the yard. I don't yell but turn around and run back down the stairs and out through the patio doors. "Josh?" I say quietly as I approach him. He says nothing and doesn't turn around. I sit down beside him and can tell he has been crying. "Buddy?" I say as I wrap my arm around him. "Josh, she is fine now" I say as he slowly gets knocked out of his trance and stares at me. I have never seen him this upset. His eyes are bloodshot. "Do you hear me?" I ask. "I almost killed her Kory" he whispers. "Josh you didn't. It was an accident. She is a child" I say grabbing his hand. I feel a pill bottle in his hand. "Josh?" I say alarmed as I pull the bottle of his hand. "I didn't" he says looking at the bottle. "I failed Colleen" he whispers crying again. I sit there and hug him as he cries. Josh has always been emotional but today I am witnessing how devastated he is. "Colleen is worried about you" I say. He cries more. I finally hear a car pull up in the driveway and know its Colleen. I stand up quickly and walk towards the back doors and watch for her to walk in through the front door. She runs in panicked until she sees me. "He is out here" I say as she runs down the hall towards me. I grab her and hug her and calm her down as she has been crying. "He didn't do anything but hold onto his pills when I found him. But he is devastated" I say. "Thank you Kory" she says. "I will go to the hospital with Rachel and Lily" I say as she nods and walks towards Josh. I watch her sit beside him and hug him. He holds onto her sobbing. Poor Josh.
