Chapter 80

Colleen POV

It feels so good that Josh is home. Lily is all over him and he doesn't leave her sight much for the last couple of weeks. I see Josh has her on his back as they come in from the backyard playing. I am sitting on the couch breastfeeding Noah. "Daddy, Mommy is hiding Noah" Lily says whispering into Josh's ear. He smiles and looks at me. "She is feeding Noah baby" Josh says as he slides her off his back and sits beside me. "Does it hurt Mommy?" Lily asks. "No baby. I fed you the same way" I say as Josh stares down at Noah while rubbing my back. I finish feeding Noah and pull down my shirt as Josh takes him from me to burp him. I get up and take Lilys hand and we walk into the kitchen to make lunch. She stands up on the stool and starts buttering bread. I hear Josh's phone go off as it sits on the charger on the counter. "Who is it babe?" Josh asks as he walks over towards me. I glance at the screen and see a name come up I have never seen appear on his phone before, Deirdre. Deirdre is Josh's old high school sweetheart. My heart starts to ache as I see the message. "Thinking about you. Hope you are better then when I last saw you" it says. My heart sinks as I stare at Josh. He notices my face and picks it up and reads it as Noah sleeps on his shoulder. I go back to Lily and continue as I try to contain my emotions. "Why is your face red Mommy?" Lily asks. "It is hot in here" I say smiling as we continue. "I am bringing Noah to his room" Josh says as I hear Josh walk away after he laid his phone back down on the counter. I am putting food on plates as I feel his arms wrap around me a few minutes later.  "Josh I am going to cry if you do that" I whisper. He spins me and holds my face. "She saw me shopping with my Mom when I was in Georgia. She said I looked upset and I told her I wasn't being the best husband I could be babe. That is it" he says searching my eyes. I nod holding his wrists tearing up. "That was it. You are my life" He says tearing up. "I hope so" I say shaking now as he hugs me tight. He is kissing my neck as Lily tugs at us. "Hungry" she yells at us. We both start laughing and look down at her as it knocks us out of our moment. We walk back to the table and start to eat. I look at Josh and he smiles at me. "Love you babe" he says. I reach and grab his hand across the table. "Need you" I whisper. He squeezes my hand again and we go back to eating. I have missed my husband.
