Chapter 77

Josh POV

I am devastated after Colleen leaves. I slowly standup and walk through the house as it gets dark outside. I pick up my phone and call my parents. "Mom" I say crying. "Joshua, whats wrong?" She asks. I tell her the story about Colleen and I and I can tell she knows its not a normal fight. "Mama, I need to come home" I say. "Are you sure Joshua? To leave Colleen with the kids might not be the best thing to do to add to your problems" she says. "I need a clear head" I say. She agrees and we hang up. I call Kory as I pack some things after buying my plane ticket."Josh" he answers. "Kory , can you stay with Colleen for the next few days? I need to go out of town for a bit" I ask wiping my face. "Josh where are you going?" He asks. "Back home " I answer. "I know you and Colleen are fighting but she tried to call you but you aren't answering her calls" he says. "We should take a break from talking. She isn't listening" I say. "Josh she knows she is wrong" he whispers. I start to cry. "I have to go Kory. Love you and thank you man" I say and hang up.
I land in Georgia early morning the next day. I am exhausted. Colleen has tried calling me and texting me but I don't want to talk. I pull up to my parents driveway and walk up to the front door and see my Mom standing there. She has tears in her eyes. We hug but don't say a word until she whispers I love you in my ear. We walk in and my Dad hugs me as we sit down. I explain to them everything. "I don't if you came here for us to tell you who is right because honestly both of you are wrong" my dad says. "I came here for a break. To get into a new environment and to clear my head" I say defiantly. He nods. "We love you and Colleen, Josh. I hope you work on things together" my mom adds. I nod and stand up as I make my way to my room to lie down. I text Kory and ask him how everyone is. "Fine. Lily is being discharged out of the hospital tomorrow" he adds. I smile and grab my phone tighter and close my eyes. I feel my phone buzz. I open it up and see a message from Colleen.

I don't know if you are seeing this or not but Lily is out of the hospital tomorrow. I guess since you have left town I will bring her home alone. Kory will keep you updated. Thanks so much for keeping communication open between us. Colleen
