It Needs to Happen

Chapter 44

Josh POV

I wake up and she is no where to be found. I look everywhere. I run outside and see her car is gone. I run in and grab my phone. "Please babe pick up" I say to myself as it starts to ring. Then it turns off totally after I try again. I start to cry. She was totally devastated thinking of abortion. I should have watched her all night. I pace around not knowing what to do. I patiently hope she will return but by 7am she isn't back. I call Rachel. "Josh why are you calling so early?" She asks panicking. "Colleen took off in the middle of the night and she has turned off her phone" I say crying. "Why would she do that?" She asks. I begin to tell her about the abortion and she stops me. "She would never do it willingly" Rachel says. "We don't want to. Her body is fighting her heart Rachel!" I say getting more upset. "Josh calm down. I know I am just telling you. She will not do it" Rachel says. A few minutes later Rachel comes over. I crumble hugging her. I am so worried. "You stay here with Lily and Chris and  I are going to her regular hang outs" Rachel says. I nod not really listening. "I will have my phone on me. Please find her" I say begging her. She hugs me again with tears in her eyes.

Rachels POV

I jump in the car and call Chris again. I called him to ask him for his help before I saw Josh after I heard about Colleen splitting. "Chris I am going to the beach and her favorite restaurants" I say. "Ok I will meet you at the office after I call Teeny and Heather" he says. I hang up and start racing around to her usual spots. I even go to the mall and drug store. She is no where. "Rachel tell me you have her" Josh begs an hour later after he calls me. "No buddy not yet" I say sadly. "I am going to meet Chris at the office to come up with a plan now" I say. He agrees and I continue driving. I walk in through the buildings front doors and smile at the doorman. "Hi there" I say smiling politely as I wait for the elevator. My phone rings. "Chris did you find Colleen?" I ask seeing it is him on my caller ID. "No not yet. I will meet you at my office so we can regroup" he says. I hang up and watch the elevator indicator saying the elevator is almost on the main level. "Excuse me miss?" the doorman approaches. I smile. "I overheard you are looking for Colleen. Is it Colleen Evans?" he asks. I nod smiling. "Have you seen her?" I ask. "She was here like two hours ago. She walked in the building in a pair of pajamas"he says. I  thank him and call Josh. "The doorman saw her here Josh. I will find her" I say racing into the elevator.
