Chapter 78

Colleen POV

I cannot believe Josh left to go home. He left me with Kory to take care of Noah and Lily. I am really annoyed even though I know he was struggling he could have answered my calls or texts. I don't know where this leaves us. Today I am concentrating on Lily coming home. My Mom is at my house with Noah as I drive to discharge Lily. I walk into the room and see my sister sitting on her bed with her watching something on her phone. "Mommy! Its Daddy" Lily squeals. I look at Rachel and then look at the screen and see Josh is facetiming her. He sees me. "Hi Colleen" he says quickly. I smile and jump out of the shot. I hear Josh and Lily talking to each other as I pack Lily's stuff. I have silent tears running down my face listening to them. He loves her so much and she loves him. I hear them say goodbye and feel my phone buzz. I MISS YOU XO is the text I see from Josh. I don't reply. Rachel comes walking up beside me. "Colleen you guys need to talk" she whispers. "I tried and he won't respond" I say wiping my face as I fold some clothes into Lily's bag. She grabs my arm and spins me to face her. "Colleen you weren't listening back home when he was still here. He asked for time and you didn't give him that. Now he is back home to get himself together to come back to you but he feels like you don't care" she says watching me. "Rachel, I got it ok?" I say walking away as I go brush Lilys hair and get her dressed. "Ok" is all I hear Rachel murmur.

We get back home and my sister, my Mom and Kory are all sitting around the kitchen as the kids nap. "This is intervention time" my mom says. "I am an adult guys. We got it" I say defiantly knowing they are going to bring up Josh. My Mom sits me back down to stop me. "Listen Colleen. You love each other. Josh blames himself for Lily's hospital stay and you didn't listen" she says. I nod. "I was wrong" I say. "But you wanted what was best for Lily which was her seeing her Daddy. However seeing him would have done no good to no one in his state of mind. He was smart to say no Colleen" she says. I nod crying as she hugs me. I grab her and hug her tighter. "I screwed up. Say he doesn't love me anymore?" I whisper. "I do babe. Of course I do" I hear Josh say. I turn to  spin to hear where his voice is coming from and see Rachel has him on facetime again. I look at Rachel and give her the evil eye and then look at her phone screen. "Babe do you want me to come home?" he asks crying on the screen.
