Chapter 20

Josh POV

Colleen still isn't home. It's been an hour and a half. Just as I go to pick up my phone I see Christopher calling. Maybe I am overreacting and her and Christopher went to dinner. "Hey Christopher" I say cheerfully. "You and Colleen working hard?" I ask. "Uh. I left hours ago. I have been home since 4:30" he says. "Did Colleen work late?" he asks. "She phoned me like 90 minutes ago and said that she was working with you" I say getting angrier by the second. "Sorry Josh. Your wife and my sister is lying" he says laughing. "Well I guess she just doesn't want to answer her phone because I tried calling her like 3 times" he says. "That's weird" I say. Just then I get a call and Colleen's face comes up on the screen with the caption MY BABY. "Christopher she is calling me now. Hold on ok?" I say to him. "Ok" he quickly says and I tap the hold and accept button. "Hey baby" I say ready to yell at her for lying. "Hi Joshua" a male voice says. "Who is this?" I ask as my heart comes up my throat. "You don't remember me? Why your wife and I are having a baby together" he says laughing. "Ryan? You fucking dick....where is Colleen?" I ask starting to cry. "I have her right here. Right in my arms" he says. "I want to talk to her now!" I say. I hear wimpering and it is killing me. "Colleen please baby I am coming for you ok? Can you hear me?" I ask. I hear her sob. "Ok we have to go now. Have a good life Joshua" he says and hangs up. I see Christophers name flash on my screen. I click the button. "Christopher! Ryan has her. I have got to call the police" I say as I hang up. I call 911 and tell them the situation through my tears. "Sir we are sending a squad car right over to you" the operator says. I nod and hang up. I phone her Mom and sister and everyone is freaking out before I hear a knock at the door. "Mr Evans?" the cop says looking at his call sheet. I nod. I start explaining to them the situation and what happened just under a year ago with Ryan. They take Colleen's cell number off of me and start tracing it. "Mr Evans stay by your phone. We are on it" the cop says as they run out of our house. I sit on the front porch and cry as I see Rachel and Kory pull up sobbing themselves. Then about an hour later Colleens parents,Chris and Teeny drive down from Santa Barbara. I must be having a nightmare. We make our way into the house and I can't sit down. Gwen grabs me. "This is killing all of us. Just sit Josh" she says. "They will find her" she adds. "I hope so" I mumble and crumble to the couch. I stare into space as people quietly talk around me before my phone rings. I answer it as everyone watches me "Mr Evans we found her. Please meet us at General Hospital ok?" the constable says. "I will be right there" I say. "Lets go they found her and she is at the hospital" I say as everyone runs out of the house and into their cars. I need my baby.
