I only found out after the kiss, that I was kissing Austin Phillips. The Austin Phillips. After the whole Finn shenanigan, I stormed off to Tori and Vienna. We left the party, and I told them everything. From the time Finn and I kissed after formal night, to the time I kissed Austin. To say that they were shocked, was an understatement.

It was finally fall, my favourite time of year, and time for me to start college. My dad came back from his business trip, and wished me luck in college, which I was thankful for. As for his business trip, I wasn't entirely sure when it finished, and when we could move into our new apartment. I'd been told that Dad comes back to Watermont Beach every so often, and then has to leave again, forcing me to stay with the Callahan's. Not that it was a bad thing...it was just, a little uncomfortable.

After hugging a tearful dad, a tearful Ashley, and a (secretly) tearful Theo, I hopped in Vienna's car with Tori, and loaded the car with my belongings. We were sharing an apartment together, saving money and time spent looking for individual apartments. It was also on campus, which made it really convenient.

A little over an hour later, we arrived on campus. Tori, Vienna and I marvelled at the architecture and the landscape, it was truly amazing. Scattered around the place were big brick buildings, sculptures and scurrying students, carrying boxes into their dorms, with tired eyes and messy hair, ready to start a brand new semester. For us college freshmen, it meant the next step towards the real world and the opportunities that life threw at us.

Our apartment was cute and compact, but not shoebox-small. It was just the right size and location for the three of us. After unpacking our belongings and stocking the kitchen with loads of food, Tori went off on a lunch date with her boyfriend, Carter.

"What do you say we go check out the extra-curricular activities?" Vienna suggested.

I smiled, grabbing my bag and key. "That sounds awesome!"

We headed over to the quad to find various pop-up booths and tables showcasing the college's best hobby groups. From dance to drama, computing to coin collecting, the college really did have it all.

"I think I'm going to go to the Creative Arts table," Vienna said, pointing towards a small booth with a large number of people queuing up in front. "I'll see you later."

"See ya," I said, scanning the list of activities. Dance...dance...dance...where are you...? There!

~~~
"Hi, is this the Dance group?" I asked the girl sitting at the Dance table. Her posture was very straight and her hair was in a tight bun. She looked at me up and down judgementally and pursed her lips.
"Well there is a massive sign on the banner that says 'Dance' on it," she said sardonically. "But hey, you're not wrong."
I laughed uncomfortably. She continued to study me for a solid minute before clearing her throat and scanning the paperwork.
"Name?"
"Sophia Dennings."
"Freshman?" she asked, looking at me up and down.
"Yes."
"So have you ever danced before?" she asked. "Ballet classes, tap, jazz?"
I shook my head and bit my lip nervously. "Not really, n-no."
She jotted down notes on the enrolment sheet and bit her lip. "Okay, so, why do you want to dance in this group?"
Ah yes. The million dollar question. Clearing my throat, I replied. "I've always wanted to dance, but I never got the chance to do so, and I thought this was a golden opportunity to learn."
