"He's had a stress induced heart attack. We don't know if he's going to be alright."

Heart attack.

Heart attack.

Stress induced heart attack.

We don't know...

My brain was clogged up with the worst-case scenarios of Steven's current health status. Ashley and I sat in the Hospital lounge waiting for the results the morning after the incident. I had a very broken sleep that night, worrying about Steven and praying he would be okay.

"I think I'm going to go to the cafeteria." I mumbled, rising from the leather sofa. "Get some coffee."

Ashley nodded and stood up too. "You probably don't want to go outside in your pyjamas, so I got your dad to bring some stuff, before he left again."

I grabbed the bag of garments Ashley tossed me and raised my eyebrows. My dad has appalling taste! None of the outfits matched whatsoever, and some of the clothes were clothes I hadn't seen in a very long time. Shrugging, I slipped out of my sweats and into a camel-coloured cardigan and a bright pink Barbie-esque floral romper.

Ashley looked at me up and down after I changed and cackled. "You look...you look..." she wheezed. "Like a Cabbage Patch Kid!"

I sighed, resting a hand on my forehead. "Well thank my dad for the wonderful clothes. They look great..."

She giggled. "C'mon, I'll walk with you to the cafeteria."

Theo and Finn were in the cafeteria when Ashley and I arrived, and they looked horrible. They put my outfit to shame with their sad and miserable faces causing my stomach to clench in unease. Theo's face was painted with a look of misery, and maybe even a hint of anger. His older brother shot a blank look out into the cafeteria window, deep in thought.

I shuffled my feet on the linoleum of the cafeteria uncomfortably. It hurt seeing the Callahan family broken like this.

"It's all Finn's fault." Theo blamed.
