I managed to survive my first week of college, maintaining good grades and managing to spend quality time with my best friends. College life was surprisingly okay, and it kind of scared me.

I just got out of the class for the week when my phone rang. Fishing for my phone in my blue backpack, I pressed 'Answer'. "Hey dad! How are you?" I chirped. It was good to hear from my dad again. I hadn't seen him in a long time.

"Good thanks," he replied. "Just calling to check in. How are things?"

"It's really good here, college is really nice." I smiled. "Aren't you supposed to be at some business thing?"

"I'm still at Steven and Ashley's house, but I'm leaving early tomorrow morning to continue business stuff."

"Oh okay." My face fell a little. Oh well, I thought. It was nice to hear from him anyway. "I have to go now dad, I-"

"It's okay, we'll talk soon, honey."

"Bye." I pressed decline and put my phone in my pocket. Heading out of the lecture room, I saw Finn leaning against the wall, texting.

"Hey Finn," I said, approaching him. He looked up at me and smirked his stupid smirk.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't the girl who slept in my apartment, the first day of semester." He teased.

"One of many, I presume." I shot back.

He chuckled and shook his head. "You do realise you just complimented me, right?" Ultimate facepalm, Sophia. Ultimate facepalm.

"Whatever." I said. This conversation was honestly going absolutely nowhere. "I'm leaving."

He stayed still and just as I turned around to leave, he muttered, "You're not the only one with a date tonight, Sophia."

What?!

I went back home was met with a small package from Miss Keeley, the dance instructor of the dance team. Inside the light, brown parcel was a set of dance clothes and a note, which read:

To Sophia,

Thankyou for inquiring about the extracurricular dance team. As you can probably tell, you have been officially accepted and I congratulate you on the offer. In this parcel is some dance uniforms that you MUST wear to every class.  Schedules are on the website, but if you cannot access it, standard lessons occur every Friday from 6-7pm. If you make it to the Dance Troupe, the schedules will be changed accordingly.

I'll see you in the studios,

Miss Keeley.

Grabbing the parcel, I unlocked the door and headed inside.

Vienna and I slumped onto the couch and chatted over coffee minutes later.

"I miss my family," she sighed. "And it's not healthy. It's only been a week!"

"Tell me about it," I said, taking a sip from my kids-themed mug. "I love college so far, but it makes me feel a little homesick."

Vienna nodded in agreement. We sighed and sipped our coffees before the light-bulb finally turned on in my head.

"I've got it!" I cried. "If I make it to the train now, I can go see Ashley, Steven and Dad by..." I checked the clock. "Six thirty!"

She shrugged. "Suit yourself, Soph. More takeout for Tori and I."

"I think I'm going to go for the weekend." I said, walking over to my bedroom to pack.

"Okay!" she hollered back.
