Sprinting down the street, a bag in hand while a quarter payed paper shielded his head; (M/N) hurried to his home where his beloved boyfriend resided most likely waiting for the (h/c) male to come with his stupid McDonald's.
(M/N) hurriedly steped upon their stoop and shook the paper he was holding. The makeshift umbrellas ink smearing his hands. (M/N) frowned and set the paper beside the door, hoping maybe the later forecasted breze would help dry the paper. So he could maybe salvage the now damp articles pages. (M/N) opened the sturdy door before him, drying his shoes on the 'Welcome' mat before kicking them aside in the other shoes that heaped beside the door.
(M/N) padded softly down the wooden hall into the lovers shared home to the living room where (M/N)'s beloved sat pouting at the rain.
"Alfie I got your McDonald's." He sighed snapping the Americans attention from the rhythmic droplets from the sky.
Alfred's pout broke into a smile as he took the bag from (M/N)'s grasp.
"Thanks dude!" Alfred cheered tearing into the bag, handing (M/N) whatever he bought, if anything. Before eating his own.
(M/N) plopped onto the couch beside Alfred, a content sigh escaping the (ethnicity) male.
"I'm sorry I made you go out in the rain. I didn't know it was coming today. Kinda ruined my plans." Alfred said taking another bite of his meal.
"Oh its okay. I didn't know either. Sucks its raining on our day off." (M/N) said running a hand through his (h/l) locks.
"I wanted to take you on a walk through town." Alfred pouted once again giving his attention to the constant downpour outside the window.
"A walk? You? Ha, don't make me laugh." (M/N) joked, stretching his arms behind him. Settling in a more comfortable position next to his American.
"Ha ha. Very funny." Alfred joked back sarcastically, taking another bite of McDonald's.
"You didn't even walk with me to McDonald's you ass." (M/N) spoke pouting towards the American.
"But, I did do something else." Alfred said finishing his meal and standing. He extended a hand to the other male. (M/N) sighed throwing his head back before begrudgingly taking his boyfriends hand. Alfred helped the other male to his feet before dragging them to the kitchen where a mess greeted the two.
"Alfred! Really? Am I gonna have to clean this?" (M/N) groaned letting his head roll backwards. An exasperated sigh erupting from his form.
"No! I'll clean it, (later) but wait! I made cookies as soon as the rain set in! I know you love having cookies when it rains!" Alfred cheered smiling and shoving a plate of warm cookies in the boys hands. (M/N)'s (e/c) eyes widened at his beloved. A familiar scent blanketing his senses.
(M/N) gave a small smile. Nostalgia washing over him as he recalled his early years when his mother would bake cookies with him on days when the weather was against their usual plans. The familiar scent of baked goods wafting through the scent of damp earth making their home that much more homey. As (M/N) remembered his mother smiling to herself as she saw the younger boy try and sneak chocolate chips from the bag on the counter. Though she knew he was taking them. But couldn't come to scold the boy.
Of course this was all before the time (M/N) started going to school when the rain was his worst enemy, and his best friend. Because what child could be upset about a force that brought them cookies?
The buzzer went off and Alfred scurried to the oven quickly pulling out the last pan he made.
"I asked your mom for the recipe last time we visited. You know after you told me about how you loved the rain." The American chuckled. (M/N) blinked in surprise. The sweets Alfred made did look and smell exactly like the ones his mother made when he was a child. He smiled to Alfred and gave his lover a quick kiss once he set down the hot pan.
"Thank you Alfie. I appreciate this." (M/N) whispered against his lovers soft lips. Alfred grinned and grabbed a cookie from the plate (M/N) was holding biting off a chunk and smiling.
"You know..." He said taking another bite before speaking again.
"I think I did a pretty good job." He finished. Snatching another few cookies from te plate. Before waltzing out of the kitchen momentarily. (M/N) picked up one of the baked goods, inspecting it before testing the Americans cooking for himself.
His eyes widened at how close they were to the originals his mother made. Better than any attempt he had ever made at them. His mind flipped back to childhood. His mother waking him up on Sunday mornings saying it was gloomy weather outside. He would pout until his mother gave him a small smile, speaking with a gentle voice saying; "but when it's gloomy we can still make cookies." And he would bound for the kitchen. His mother following behind. Smiling at how easy it was to cheer up the child.
(M/N) smiled sadly at the plate of cookies in his grasp. A melancholy atmosphere growing around him as his memory faded.
"(M/N)? You alright? Did I mess them up bad?" Alfred asked from the doorway of the kitchen. (M/N) turned to face his boyfriend and chuckled.
"No you did great. They're just like my moms..." He trailed taking another bite of the memory. Alfred smiled and pulled his lover from his spot in the kitchen to the living room where (M/N) was greeted by a fort of every blanket and pillow in their home sprawled across the living room floor. From the old fashioned quilts in the guest room to the silly throw blankets they kept in closets, paired with duvets from their shared bedroom.
(M/N) chuckled as the blond hopped onto a large pile of missalanious pillows.
"I figured if the weather outside was gonna be against us. Why don't we just have a movie night instead." Alfred grinned. (M/N) smiled and gently plopped next to his silly boyfriend pulling a duvet from the mess and draping it over the couples shoulders. He curled up into his Americans form stealing any heat he could to keep the depressive cold away.
"Or, we could just lay here and eat cookies." Alfred chuckled snatching a cookie from the others plate. (M/N) chuckled pressing a sweet kiss to his boyfriends lips.
"Sounds perfect Alfie."
-----
"Alfred?"
"Yeah?"
"You know you still have to clean the kitchen right?"
"... But."
"No buts. And I'm not helping you."
"But what if-"
"I said no buts!"
"What if I make you more cookies?"
"... Right now?"
"Yeah?"
"... Deal."

A/N I hope you guys liked this short little one-shot featuring one of my favorite Hetalia characters! I don't know if Alfred would actually be a decent cook but I think it would be cool if he did. So In this one he could cook.
Please send requests! And I'll greet ya next time!
