Asgard was at war with Jotunheim and Odin's sons, Thor and Loki, along with Sif and the warriors three were off to battle. The war was raging on for a few weeks now and they have finally started to see progress. But the worst battle is yet to come.
It was a Tuesday afternoon when the ambush happened. Frostgiants had the camp surrounded and it would be difficult to get out alive. Thor hurled his hammer into the heart of the battle killing three giants. Loki using his magic and daggers was slaying giants left and right. Sif protected Loki's back but as he turned to thank her an arrow went right through his chest. "Thor come quick Loki is down" Sif shouted over the roar of clanging metal and screams of the dying. Thor comes rushing over but not without killing some Jotuns on the way.
"Brother stay with me you're going to be ok" Thor says as tears run down his cheeks. "No Thor this is it for me. Its my time to go to Valhalla. Just know even though I didn't show it, I have always loved you brother, never forget that. And tell mother I'm sorry for breaking my promise, I won't be coming home this time." Loki says with his final breaths. Thor screams to the heavens as he clutches his brothers body in his arms.
Loki's POV
I find myself in a great hall with what seems to be the sound of something rushing around. A high pitched squeal came from one of the doors I just passed by. It sounded like a woman's voice. I lean my ear against the door I heard the noise come from and as soon as my ear touched the wood, the door comes flying open. I rub my cheek to sooth the pain from the impact of the door. There running down the hall was what seemed to look like a Valkyrie. "Shit shit shit I'm late! Of all people I'm late for is Odin's son." the woman running down the hall said. "Umm excuse me miss, no need to run off I'm already here" She stops in her tracks and quickly spins around, then sprints towards me. "Are you my Valkyrie?" I say with a smile. She is absolutely beautiful, I can't even begin to understand. She looks so strong yet so delicate at the same time. And those eyes, wow!
"Yes I am your Valkyrie brave prince. Sorry you got stuck with me I'm not as good as my sisters. I'm always late, as you can see" she said while fixing her helmet. "I didn't mind the wait young Valkyrie. May I know your name?" "Oh of course where are my manners" she says with a giggle "It's (Y/N) your highness" Odin's beard she is adorable and not to mention beautiful. Mother always told us that the Valkyrie are pretty but that is surly an understatement. I must have her as my bride, if he will have me.
(Y/N) POV
Can't believe I was late for Prince Loki, of all people the most handsome person in all of Asgard and I was late. He didn't seem angry with me so I guess that's a good thing. But I surly won't hear the end of it from my sisters. And I'm not looking forward to what Odin has to say.
Wow Loki is a lot taller in person and sexy. Wait (Y/N) what are you thinking you can't think things like that! He can read minds you stupid girl. And you surely can't show your feelings for him even though you've had a crush on him ever since you were little. Even if he felt the same way Odin would surely never allow it. Well I guess I should go show Odin the new recruit.
I guided him through the maze that is Valhalla. I offered him my hand so we wouldn't get separated and he took it right away and it made me blush. I quickly hide my face so he didn't see, but it felt so good to have his hand in mine. Once we get to the throne room where Odin meets the new incomers Loki tells me the room looks exactly like the throne room in Asgard. I could tell in his voice he missed Asgard and his family and I tried to comfort him but he kept a straight face when I announced his name to Odin. "All Father I present to you Loki of Asgard" and he stood up from his chair to embrace his son. It was very heartwarming but I couldn't help being nervous for what Odin has to say to me about being late again.
"My son I'm so glad to see you again. Your mother will be relived that you made it here to Valhalla" Odin booms. "Yes father it is good to see you again too" Loki says in his soft silk voice. "Now there is the matter with your Valkyrie, would you please leave us son so I can tend to her" Odin said looking at me with disappointment in his eyes. Loki leaves and I kneel before the All Father. "You were late again (Y/N). I understand that you are still young and not as strong as your sisters but I don't think this is a strength or age issue. Do you agree?" "I agree Odin this was not a strength or age issue. It is completely my fault and I will take the punishment you choose for me with all submission." "For your punishment I revoke your title of Valkyrie and you will become a mortal. You will live alone not taking a husband for the rest of your days on Midgard" Odin says as he pounds his staff on the ground. My wings, helmet and all Valkyrie clothing disappeared and I was left in a poor Midgardian dress. "Thank you fair and just All Father" I say between sobs as I try to walk away.
"No Father you can't do this to her. So what if she was late. I didn't mind waiting. You are always in a rush to get something done!" Loki says as he runs into the room helping me to my feet. He holds me close to him and drys my tears. "Hold your tongue boy. She needs to be punished and this is her punishment." Odin says in a scolding tone. "Then I will take her as my bride and we will live on Midgard" Loki says with pride in his voice. Odin laughs and says "How you're dead, can't take her as a bride since she is living." "You fool I still have my magic and I will live once again" Loki says as a green light surrounds us and we arrive on Midgard.
"Now that we are mortal I can tell you how I feel about you" I say to Loki who looks down at me with a grin. "I know how you feel about me, I read your mind. You think I'm sexy." he says with a chuckle as he hugs me. I giggle as he spins me around in his arms saying "I have a Valkyrie as a wife. I'm the luckiest man on Midgard. "But I'm not a Valkyrie anymore" I say trying not to cry as I rub my back where my wings used to be. "Nonsense (Y/N) my queen, you said yourself that you're my Valkyrie and it will stay that way till the end of time" he says picking me up bridal style and kissing all over my face causing me to giggle.
