A Summer's Day

There were several things you were confused about at the moment. Like, why had you dumped Sans? Why had he been okay with it? Then again, he did say he deserved it for being such a jerk to you. He said he understood, but he'd never stop fighting to have you again. 

It was adorable, but you just... didn't feel that way for him anymore. 

As you stood on the beach in your two-piece swimsuit, you hadn't noticed a shadow creep up on you. Gaster stood beside you, and you jumped.

"I heard the news from Sans. Are you having second thoughts? Is something wrong?" Gaster was curious; he'd never, in a million years, expect you to stray from your goals.

"It's not that I'm having second thoughts, Gaster. It's just that I don't have those kinds of feelings for him anymore." Your face turned red; all of Gaster's attention was on you. As your heartbeat sped up, you realized something; this was the way that Sans had once made you feel. Could the reason you dumped Sans be...? No, it was impossible. Wouldn't you have to be aware of your feelings to do that?

"Are you all right? You seem to be having a reaction to something. Perhaps it is a cold? Would you like me to make you some medicine?" Gaster had gone back to his normal self after the whole Nightmare Serum incident. He was caring, as usual, and tended to call and text you a lot. He also visited, especially after you decided to stay with Asgore, Asriel, and Frisk. Due to this, you had spent a lot more time with Gaster.

You smiled. "Oh, I'm fine. I just think I caught a bit of love..."

"Love?" Gaster was visibly confused, and he obviously didn't understand what you meant. In the end, you'd have to show the skele; he was a sweetheart, and a gentleman, and even though he had his flaws, he was still the Gaster you fell for. You stood on your tip-toes, and gave the skele a light kiss. He was surprised, but he didn't make any motion to move away from you. Instead, he held you close to him.

You were walking to meet Sans. It was 9:00 at night; you knew exactly what Sans had asked to meet you for.

As you walked, your mind strayed to the things that had happened over the course of the past few weeks; betrayal, reconciliation, love, hate, pain, and death. There were too many things, too much pain.

Your mind, however, strayed to Chara. The poor child who had been abused and used by his village... the one who had so much hate, he ended up directing it at all of humanity. You couldn't help but feel bad for the kid, even though you still didn't like him. In his position, beaten and bruised and unloved, what would you have done? Perhaps you would have turned out the same way. If you reached out to someone, and that someone returned your efforts with hatred, what would that turn you into?

A hand covered your mouth, and pulled you into an alley. You wanted to scream, but it prevented you from doing so...
