Chapter 79 ~ Voices in Your Head

Hey, don't mistake me for Chara. I already said I wasn't in the dream, didn't I?

You attempt to ignore the voice in your head, walking towards the forest. Those nightmarish creatures no longer pursued you; you were safe... for now. However, there was a fast-approaching darkness that seemed to cloud your mind.

Hey, don't ignore me. I still have to narrate your life, you know. Without doing so, I can't really know what's going on. I am just a statue at the moment, after all. I have to keep a watchful eye on you to make sure you're doing our job.

"What do you mean, our job?!" You shout at the sky, extremely annoyed. A young woman who was sitting out on her front lawn gave you a strange look, and disappeared into her house. Wow, she definitely thought you were creepy. Look at you go, talking to the voices in your head. "It's only one voice."

Still a voice, my friend.

"Shut up." You muttered, stepping onto soft grass. The forest was right in front of you, and you willingly walked right into it even if it were a deathtrap. Hey, did you know this is actually the first timeline in which I've been able to directly contact you as a voice in your head? All of those other times, you kind of exploded. "If you're gonna narrate my damn life, can you do it without remarks like that?"

"Who are you talking to.....?~ My darling, have you gone insane...?~ Perhaps it's because you missed me so much....~ Oh, no....~ Has my absence drove you mad.....?~" You jumped at the voice that was behind you. Relax, it's only Devil!Sans. Idiot.

You will the voices in your head to stop making hurtful comments. Voice, you think, attempting to correct the voices. The voices refuse to be corrected.

"No, I'm fine. I'm just talking to myself."

"Oh, I do that all the time....!~ Except I'm really talking to Devil!Papyrus....~ He always hides behind a tree or something...~" Wow, Devil!Sans really likes spacing out his sentences. Relax, I'm not gonna say anything mean about him. I'd only do that to you. We have such a wonderful relationship!

I should also mention that I have a personality disorder. My personality can go all over the place, so you'll be talking to different 'me's.' Don't hold it against me if I try to persuade you to kill someone.

You almost let out a gasp of shock, but regain control over your emotions. The voice in your head won't stop you! I'm not really trying to stop you, but okay. I decided to intervene because I wanted to hurry this damn trail of cookie crumbs along, okay? You. Take. Fooooooooor-ever. How much longer until you get all of our pillars up and running?

Oh, yeah. I probably should've mentioned this, but nice to meet you! I'm the antagonist. You can call me Ajax! Whether I'm male or female is totally up to you. I'm totally gonna gasp- gasp! What if I'm a romantic route too in some of those one-shots? I can see the title now. You x Ajax's Many Personalities! Yandere Ajax, Tsundere Ajax, Normal... Okay, there's really no normal Ajax.

You groan inwardly, realizing that you're going to have to put up with this until you could get to Alphys and tell her there's someone talking to you inside your head.

Wow, that would sound a lot worse out loud! But, hey, go right ahead and tell her you're insane. I have eternity, and I don't mind spending it in your subconscious!
