But... maybe it's not the end?
All of it had convened to one point as the pillars broke through the earth shortly after your talk with the thing that came for your soul. He was free; Ajax was free. And god, was it monstrous. Flesh spilled out in all directions, boils and pustules, massive spills of flesh. It's claw settled on the entire content of Mexico, destroying it. Ajax roared, and its gaping maw settled right in front of you before it spoke.
"This is who I truly am. This is also who you are. You are an extension of my soul, Princess. The only good inside of it, and I extracted it." Your world seemed to slow down as ashes rained from the sky; it was the end of the world.
And the memories flooded your head, consuming you. Being split from Ajax, being put in the body of a dead human girl. Being preserved. And the way you tried to escape from Ajax, not wanting to be the matriarch of the apocalypse.
It was all futile. The world wanted to right itself. It always did. Even if you'd escaped, you hadn't really. Echoes of past memories bounced in your mind, and you began to cry. Your soul was far too small to combat Ajax.
As his claw surrounded you, your soul was entirely absorbed into him, and you were one. You didn't even fight it.
And then, nothing but darkness.
Hello again, my dearest friend.
"Ajax?" You whispered, although your voice was no longer physical.
Not exactly. I can be considered Ajax, but there's a difference. I'm the good part. Like you, only... smaller. I keep getting smaller because you keep denying me. You never take the route I offer, and so, we repeat.
The voice was weak, flickering in and out of being.
"What route?"
The route that I always offer, it replied.
[HUMAN! CAN YOU HEAR ME? HUMAN! PLEASE... WE KNOW IT IS YOU! YOU HAVE TO STOP! WE DON'T WANT TO HURT YOU!] Papyrus' voice bounced across the emptiness, and you reached for it, but it faded before it reached you.
"What's going on?" You whisper.
You're dying. Ajax is going to destroy the universe, again. You're going to destroy the universe, again.
[Hey, ______! You need to stop! You're going to hurt innocent people! Come on, I don't want to have to do this to you!] Undyne's voice.
"No... it's a lie... This is all a dream..."
No. It's not. And soon, I'll be as stuck as you were. This is the point in time where I die, so it's my last chance to offer you this escape. It's not pleasant but you will never destroy the world again.
[Child, please! Toriel would never approve of this! Please... come back to us!] Asgore.
[Big sis, please! Please come back! Wake up!] Asriel.
"What do you mean, not pleasant?"
You're going to be destroyed. Permanently. No resetting. You will simply... stop existing. Everywhere. In every time. You'd never have existed in the first place. And, because of that, I too, and Ajax, will stop existing.
For all of this to work, you have to cease your existence. Willingly.
"Why me?" You whisper, your heart wrecked with the decision you had to make. You willingly gave your life for them, but... that was different than giving your existence. To never have existed... for Sans to have never met you... it made you feel lonely. To not be remembered.
