You ached all over.

You had fallen, into a patch of bright yellow flowers, but there was not a scratch on you. Just a sore backside.

You searched your mind for an explanation, but it was entirely blank.

No memories. No thoughts, or opinions.

But you did find one thing.

A word.

"Sans?" You spoke to yourself, aloud, as if to trigger a thought in your head. Still, nothing came.

There would still be nothingness if you stayed here. Your empty head frightened you.

Out of the corner of your eye, you could have sworn you saw a hulking shape smiling sadly at you, but you couldn't see anything more than a smile in the darkness.

When you blinked, it had gone away.

It was just your fear acting up.

You traipsed through the area, until you reached what seemed to be ruins. You entered the arch that stood tall, and saw a patch of grass- in the middle of it, a lone flower of bright yellow.

You approached it carelessly, preparing to pick it. You kneeled down, and were given quite a shock as the flower decided to grow a face.

"Hiya, pal! My name's Flowey! Flowey the flower!" It bounced from side to side.

The cheerfulness of whatever this was, flower, you mentally corrected yourself, was off on many levels. Whatever this thing was, it was faking it.

The tone of its voice was a dead giveaway.

A memory flashed through you.

'I don't trust you. That voice is... like mine.'

You were positive that had been your voice.

"Uh, hello, Pal?"

You realized you had not yet responded to the flower.

"Hi... Flowey." You said, your voice laced with an uncertain tone.

"Come on, Pal! That's not how you greet a friend, now, is it?"

"But you aren't my friend," The response was automatic, almost mechanical.

The flower's demeanor changed instantly.

"The hell is this? You haven't been in a single time line, yet you know what I'm trying to do?"

You didn't, but you felt like it would be easier to say you did.

"WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?!" Flowey screeched. "There's no way you could've known. You're new to all of this. I could've just killed you and been on my way."

You made a mental note never to trust flowers again.

Something felt like it was bursting inside you; a light eminated from your chest, and out came a heart which seemed to be colored grey.

"What is this? I've never seen one this color." The flower said, his face changing. "This is interesting. Red is determination, blue is integrity and...well, I wonder what grey means."

You don't know what grey meant, either. You just knew that you couldn't be deceived.

"Aaah. I see what it is now." The flower resumed bouncing. He was back to his happy face, rather than the scary one he had a minute ago. "Grey is truth, honesty! No wonder you could see straight through me."

His face went monstrous. You trembled.

"Hey, kid. That's a really useful talent you got there." He laughed, a laugh that chilled your soul. "You can find out a lot of things that you don't need to know."
