She swatted you away with one paw as if you were a fly. You flew in any particular direction, but the Grillby Circle was there to catch you. "Thanks, Grillby~!" You say, rushing back into the fight.
"..... No problem." Their creepy way of saying that in sync would never get old.
You rush back into the battle, swinging your fists as if you were actually going to hit her. She swatted you back once more, but this time, nobody was there to catch you.
You slammed into the rock, but got back up. You felt terrible, and wanted to stay down, but you had to keep going.
[So, you're going for the no-mercy run, huh? Yeah, I'd totally do that too...~]
This voice.
It was one you recognized.
You were back in Gaster's lab, the one behind Sans' house, hooked up to machines that kept you alive and fed. This was...your very first near-death experiment. Before the monsters were sealed away in the cave, and had the freedom to come and go.
"Hey, Chara... didn't Doctor Gaster say not to come back here?" Asriel asked, searching for his friend. No doubt they were playing hide and seek, as Sans and Papyrus did often back here. A small child entered the room, giggling, and locking the door behind them. They then began to explore the lab, as the doorknob rattled. "Chara, let me in!"
"Eeenie, meenie, minie, mo...which machine should I break today?~" Yes, this voice was identical to the one in your head. The child stopped, and stared at you. "It seems like it's not a machine I'll be breaking today, heehee..." Chara walked forwards, and grabbed a couple of tubes that hooked you to a machine, yanking them out. Your heart monitor, which had been steadily beeping, went flat. No doubt Gaster would be in a panic. Your eyes began to close as you felt the life supporting magic drain from your system, and the world got darker... The lab door slammed open, and Gaster strode in, reconnecting you to the machine that Chara had disconnected you from. He looked pissed.
"Please refrain from allowing your child to enter my lab, your highnesses." Gaster had seen Chara before. Everyone knew what Chara was capable of. That's why, when the royalty was set to visit, Gaster had sent the children away to stay with Undyne and her parents. Gaster would not have his children around that...monster. However, you were the only one he thought he could protect...but he was wrong.
Toriel's sweet, sweet voice echoed through your head, a voice you missed dearly. "My apologies, Gaster. We assumed they would get into no trouble, no trouble at all. Our little C F h r a i r s a k is an angel, you see?" Chara's name came out jumbled, as if another name was hidden within. Or, as if Toriel was attempting to say another name.
"It's alright. Just, please, keep them away from my lab. It's dangerous."
Yes, this voice was familiar.
[Miss me, experiment 626?]
Because with the good, always came the bad.
[Because I really missed you...~]
And this was definitely bad.
[Lots.~ Now, let's get ahold of a knife, shall we?]
