*You chose to listen to Penelope.
*There will be a CONSEQUENCE and a POSITIVE OUTCOME.
*Remember, you can also INFLUENCE completely random actions. It doesn't just have to be the choices I give you; get creative!
*Also, apologies if you're reading this years later or didn't catch up enough. I'll probably give you about 2 days to 2 hours, depending on how many people comment. If there's a flood of comments, then I will certainly start writing the next chapter right away! Try to catch up so you can INFLUENCE the story, okay?
You nod, stepping towards Penelope. Sans grabs your wrist, but you pull away. "I'll only be a second, I promise you. Go talk to Grillby."
Sans is worried, but he nods anyways. It feels good for him to be his normal self again, and you watch him dissapear into the food joint.
"Make it quick." You cross you arms, giving Penelope a good glare. She sighs, and it's obvious she doesn't want to do anything bad to you. She gives you a small smile.
"Admittedly, I agreed to marry Sans, but I never loved him. Maybe a little bit of a like, but it was more or less me pushing my affections onto another person." Penelope gave one of her soft smiles again. "When you... when you ended up in the hospital, I realized that I was only making your life difficult because mine was difficult itself."
"So, you pushed your anger at me?" You began to walk into Grillby's.
"Wait, please!" Penelope's cry gained her an extra minute of your attention. "I did, but only because the other humans imprisoned the first monster I fell in love with. Sans was really, really nice to me. I didn't want to let go of that warmth...! And so, I held on."
"Wha... why would they imprision a monster?"
"Because we were the very first monster-human couple." Penelope admitted. "They didn't want monster-human hybrids around. In fact, monster-human marriage is still banned. In order to get some sort of revenge, I was using Sans to prove that love between monsters and humans would never die out. I wanted to give the monsters their rights, and the humans that loved them the right to go for it!"
That was a very noble cause. You believed Penelope's words, and understood why she fought so hard to keep Sans. She wanted to free monsters and give them the rights humans had.
"However, they let him go. The monster I love." She smiled to the alley to the left of her, extending her hand. A certain monster walked out of the alley. "Burgerpants..." She said, fondly.
He looked at her, and rather than a look of complete hatred as he usually had when dealing with customers, it was a look of love and admiration. She wrapped her arms around him, and he around her. You were happy for them. For some reason, you could see you and Gaster in the exact same position, but not you and Sans.
There's different kind of loves and romances, though, and what you had with Gaster was impossible with Sans, whilist what you had with Sans was impossible with Gaster.
You'd probably never be able to choose between them, let alone be able to face them and yell that you had feelings for them both at the top of your lungs. Besides, they already knew... they just didn't like talking about it.
"Please, ______. Don't hold my actions against me. I... don't love Sans. Don't hold what was my fault against him."
*Will you FORGIVE Penelope?
You don't answer. You don't know whether you should forgive her or not, but you'll think about it in the near future. She understands, and you enter Grillby's.
