Jake smiled widely, setting the phone back on the receiver. His smile then quickly vanished as he looked around his room, realizing it was an awful mess. He quickly began to scamper around, shoving things in places and just generally cleaning. His gran peaked through the cracked open door.
"Awe... My little Jakey is trying to impress someone... It's about damn time!" The woman whispered in a not-so quiet tone. Jake looked up at his guardian with a scowl.
"It's not like that!"
"Lies! LIES! I'll bake them a pie!"
