“Why didn’t you tell anyone you know Jo Levon?” Harry asked. I shrugged, “I don’t know, it just didn’t come up. Why’s it such a big deal to you guys anyways?” I asked. Harry looked at me confused, “What do you mean it’s not a big deal? She’s Jo Levon, one of the most well known actors right now… Plus, she’s hot.”
I hit Harry’s arm and he just laughed. Harry smirked, “Jealous much, Niall?” he joked. I rolled my eyes, “Yeah, I’m jealous of a girl who’s dating Asher Lee?”
“That’s a good question, Niall,” Harry smirked. Louis intervened, “Wait, what’s going on? Did I miss something?”
“It’s just that I’m friend with Jo Levon,” I answered, trying to make it sound normal. Why are they making such a big deal about this? Can’t they just let it go? Yeah, I’m in love with her, but there’s no way I can say it… She’s dating Asher.
“Wait, Jo Levon the actor?” Louis asked. Zayn looked at him annoyed, “No, Jo Levon the potato farmer,” Zayn said, sarcastically. Louis looked off into the distance with a confused frown on his face, “Are there such things as potato farmers or are they just normal farmers? Because I’ve never heard of like a corn farmer or a bean farmer.”
“Just shut up, Louis,” Zayn replied, leaning backing in his chair. Today we had a concert, and we were in the dressing room getting prepared as we spoke. We got off the chairs and then had to change into our outfits for the show.
Once we finished dressing, we walked out again. Liam sat down on the couch, and I sat down beside him, “Five more minutes until show time,” he said, as he stared at the clock. I nodded and leaned back against the chair. I sat there in silence with Liam for a couple more minutes before being called to go onstage.
I followed the other boys out of the dressing room and we waited backstage. Finally, our cue came, and we came onstage.
The crowd was screaming and cheering all at the same time, as we walked on. Soon, we were talking to the crowd, having a great time, like usual. We started singing, and everything else just came naturally to me. It was like the thrill of performing, and I loved every second of it.*
The concert was great, and the fans had an amazing time, just like the boys and me. We walked off stage, saying bye to the crowd. I was going to head to my dressing room, when I saw her.
Jo was standing in the backstage area. Standing right beside her was Asher, his hand securely intertwined with hers. When my eyes met hers, her hand slipped away from Asher’s grasp and she happily ran over to me, “Hey Niall!” she cheerfully greeted me.
“Hey Jo, Hey Asher,” I decided that I better greet Asher, too. Asher slightly waved his hand in reply. Jo slipped her hand back into Asher’s when she realized he was standing beside her. I looked at both of them confused, “So, what are you two doing here?”
“Oh, well I wanted to see the concert and plus Asher wanted to meet you. He realized we’ve been hanging out more and decided that it would be nice to come see you, too. Well, I never really got the chance to see the concert… Asher thought it wouldn’t be a good idea for us to go out in the crowd of people,” Jo explained.
Why does she keep bringing up Asher in every sentence? I guess she must really be in love with him. It sounds like he is her world… God I wish I could be Asher.
“Oh, well, it’s nice to see you two again,” I replied. I felt awkward. Like I was the third wheel of the group. I felt intimidated by Asher for some reason. It’s like I’m worried that he can read my thoughts or something. Then, he would know how I feel about Jo.
“I thought it would be a good idea to see the guy that has been hanging out with my girlfriend,” Asher said. I don’t think I’m his favorite person right now… I wonder what he’s thinking of me now…
“I was thinking we could all go out and get something to eat when you’re ready,” Jo said. I nodded, “Sure, that sounds great. I’ll just meet you back here in a couple minutes.”
Jo waved goodbye as I headed off the other direction. I walked over into the dressing room and then Louis ran over to me, “You were talking to her again!” Louis yelled at me, “Did you invite her over! It’s so adorable!”
I frowned, “Jo came over on her own with Asher,” I answered. Louis smirked, “Jealous much, Nialler?” he joked. I rolled my eyes and walked over to get changed into my other outfit. I walked out and then Zayn walked over, “I heard that you were going to go out with Jo,” he smirked at me.
“Okay, where are these rumors even starting from?” I asked, glancing around the room. Zayn pointed out the door, “Jo is out there-” I interrupted Zayn, “With Asher, please stop acting like I’m in love with her,” I begged. I was scared that somehow Asher would realize I was in love with Jo.
“Sorry,” Zayn quietly replied. I guess he thinks I’m offended or something, I shouldn’t have sounded so harsh, “Um, well, I’m going out to dinner with Asher and Jo, so I got to go. I’ll see you later then.”
“Okay, bye,” Zayn replied, heading over to Harry. I walked out of the room, and out to the backstage area. I saw Jo and Asher standing together. Asher’s arm was wrapped around Jo’s waist. Her head was rested against his shoulder, and he was smiling at her. They leaned in and- I quickly turned away. I didn’t want to see that.
I glanced again to see that they had pulled away, so I walked over, before they would do anything again. Jo pulled away from Asher’s grasp, so she could talk to me. Asher looked disappointed when she pulled away.
“Hey, ready to go?” Jo asked. I nodded, “Yeah, so where exactly is this restaurant?” I asked. Jo paused for a moment to think then answered, “Oh, it’s just a small restaurant downtown. Asher and I like to go down there. You can just follow behind our car, okay?”
I nodded, “Got it, I’ll see you in a couple minutes then.”
