"What are you doing here?" I immediately asked. Obviously I wasn't thinking.
"What a nice way to greet your girlfriend," Emily muttered. She simply glanced at Jo and then back to me. The look in her eyes wasn't very beneficial to me. She was pretty pissed.
Emily pushed past Jo and I and headed away. I watched as she got in her car and drove off. I didn't need to try and stop her. Emily knows that she can be stopped, and she doesn't want to argue in front of others; even if she doesn't like them.
I finally shook it off and just decided to take Jo inside. I grabbed Jo's arm and pulled her inside, quickly shutting the door behind us.
"What was that for?" Jo snapped, pulling her arm from my grasp.
"I didn't want any paparazzi to see us going into my house," I simply answered. If the press found out, we'd both be dead. The idea of them learning about all that has happened between us scared me to death.
"Please just let me go home, Niall!" Jo whined.
"Jo, he's a monster!" I exclaimed, "I don't want you to be in the same place alone with him! Did you not see him grab you and shove you against the wall? He was going to seriously hurt you!"
"No he wasn't!" Jo yelled, "H-He just couldn't control himself!" she clenched her fists, as she tried to explain her reasoning. It was obvious that she was very frustrated, "He was trying to control himself, I could tell! You don't know him like I do!"
"I do know that he was trying to hurt you and I'm just trying to protect you!" I argued.
Jo groaned and turned around. She stomped towards the door, "I don't need this, Niall," she muttered, "I'm leaving!"
Jo opened the door and I immediately reacted. I grabbed her wrist and pulled her away from the door, quickly shutting it.
"What the hell, Niall?" she shouted, "Why are you treating me like this? I thought you were the one who was trying to be nice to me!"
I fell silent. Jo's eyes were on me as her body slowly and rose, due to her heavy breathing. I finally just sighed, "Look Jo, I'm not trying to hurt you. I just want to make sure you're safe. Every second you're with Asher alone, I feel so much guilt. I think of all the ways I could protect you, but I don't do anything. Now that I have a chance to save you, I'm not letting go of you."
Jo's eyes darted around the room, looking everywhere but my eyes. Finally, she pushed past me, but headed in the opposite direction. She plopped down on my couch and crossed her arms over her chest.
I stared at her confused, but ended up looking at the back of her head. She turned around, "Well, I'm staying now, so don't you ignore me."
