Mum, Dad, Denise, and Theo left. Jo came over to my flat again while they were here. I was surprised, after the first time. My family had stopped talking about Greg in front of me. I’m worried that they know something is wrong with me… No one can know.

I’ve been going to a couple talk shows, radio interviews, and concerts. I’m starting to get more busy, going around and seeing fans with the boys every once in a while. We actually have been doing more CD signings more often. It’s been nice getting to interact with the fans more often. Ever since… the incident, I was pushing myself away from the fans. No, I was pushing myself away from everyone.

I heard the fans screaming, as we walked out of our hotel. We had been visiting a couple cities in the UK, so we could perform there. Then, next year we would be starting our next tour. For now, we were just trying to keep up with interacting with fans.

Security surrounded us as we walked down the streets. The fans were already starting to crowd around us. We wanted to look around the city, but it looks like that wasn’t going to happen. Liam led us into a store, but then the girls surrounded us, the doors closing behind us. Looks like we aren’t getting out of here now.

I sat down on one of the seats. I looked around to see we were in a shoe store. The person working here looked at us in shock, but didn’t say anything. He just continued to work on organizing the shelves.

Zayn sighed and looked around the store, “This wasn’t a good idea, was it?” he asked us. Harry shrugged, “Well, it was nice to get out for a few minutes,” he joked, trying to ease the tension among us.

Suddenly, our silence was interrupted by my phone ringing. I pulled it out of my pocket and glanced at the caller ID. It was Jo. I glanced at the boys to see all eyes were on me. I wanted to talk to Jo, so I simply stood up and walked over to the other side of the store. I answered the call, “Hey Jo,” I casually said into the phone, trying to cover my excitement.

“Hey, Niall, I just was wondering if you wanted to come to a party this weekend,” Jo said. I frowned, even if she couldn’t see my features, “Just a random party?”

“Oh, well, it’s my birthday,” Jo told me. My mouth nearly dropped open. Why didn’t I know about her birthday before now?

“Wait, your birthday is this week? I had no idea…” I trailed off, hoping Jo would fill in the awkward silence, “Well, I guess it never came up when we were talking…” Jo said, “I just don’t think about having a big deal about birthdays, but all the paparazzi want me to have a party, so now I’m having a party.”

“You shouldn’t have to do something you don’t want to,” I argued. Jo sighed, “Well, I don’t think it could be too bad. It would be more fun you could come, Niall. So, will you puh-lease come?” Jo begged. I laughed at her attempts to whine, “Sure, I’ll come. When is it?”

“It’s this Saturday, the fourth at me and Asher’s house, just come in the evening, whatever time works,” She told me. Wait, Jo shares a house with Asher? Seems a little young, after all, she is only eighteen, well, she’ll be nineteen soon. I wonder how long they’ve been living together...

“Oh, you can bring the other boys, too, if you would like,” Jo added in. I glanced over at the boys, wondering if I wanted them to come along. Yeah, I guess it would be fine. After all, she has a boyfriend. I don’t need to be alone with her or anything, “Yeah, sure I’ll ask them. I’ll be coming over later, then.”

“So, what are you doing?” Jo asked, changing the subject.

“Oh, I’m just trapped in a store with the boys,” I said, trying to make it sound normal.

“Um, do I wanna know why?” Jo asked. I laughed, “Well, I guess I should tell you. We went outside of our hotels to walk around, but ended up getting trapped in a store. The police and security are working on moving them out of the way, so we can get out.”

“Wow that must be irritating, I have had problems with fans, but I nothing as bad as getting trapped in a store,” Jo said, “It’s kind of funny, Asher had that happen a couple times, too.”

And, there it is. More conversations about Asher. Soon, Jo was talking all about her perfect boyfriend. She talked about Asher’s experiences with fan problems. He just sounded perfect from the way Jo said it. He was super nice to her, and I wish I could be Asher…

“Hey, I think I hear Asher coming in, so I probably should go and talk to him. I’ll talk to you later, Niall. Bye,” Jo said, and ended the call before I could say bye. I looked at the screen suspiciously, before shoving it back in my pocket, then walked over to the boys again.

“What was that about?” Liam asked.

“Oh, it was just Jo. She wanted to know if you guys wanted to go to a party at her house this Saturday, it’s her birthday,” I told them.

“Sure, that sounds good, I could come,” Liam answered. The other boys mumbled in agreement. Looks like they all are coming. Zayn looked at me suspiciously, “Niall, is it me or have you been spending a ton of time with Jo?”

I frowned, “What are you talking about?”

“Niall, are you in love with Jo?” Zayn asked. I instantly felt nervous. Was it obvious? I can’t let them know; they will probably try and get involved somehow. I don’t want them making Jo hate me or something because they are trying to set her up with me when she is already dating Asher. I just want Jo to be happy, even if I can’t date her.

“No, of course not!” I argued, “We’re just friends, that’s it.”

Zayn shrugged, “Well, okay,” he muttered in reply. Suddenly, the door opened and one of the security guards entered, “We were able to clear it out a little, so you all can head back to the hotel,” he told us. We all got up and headed out the door and back to the hotel.

I stood in front of the mirror, looking at my appearance. For some reason I wanted to look really nice for this… Why does she have to have this effect on me? Everything I do is effected by Jo now… I just want to be perfect for her.

I finished fixing up my hair and headed out of my flat, towards the car. I got in my car and started heading towards Jo and Asher’s house. I have to be careful when I’m there. I’m sure some paparazzi will try and get pictures. When they see that One Direction is there, they will want to get some sort of pictures.

I turned on the radio in the car; letting the music distract me from my thoughts. All I could think about was Jo. I shoved my hand into my pocket, making sure I still had the small box there.

I kept thinking about Jo and Asher, though; it looks like the music isn’t really helping me. I just want to be the guy that is there for Jo, but she already has that guy. I wish I was the guy that would be able to wrap her up in my arms and hold her close. Why did she already have to find the perfect guy for her?

I wish that I could just forget about her. I want to move on and find a new girlfriend, but every time I see another girl, I think about all the things I love about Jo. I wish I could have her as my girlfriend. I would never let her go.

I arrived at the party, realizing how many people were here. I got out of the car and instantly was bombarded by the flashes of cameras. I pulled on a pair of sunglasses and headed towards Asher and Jo’s house.

I was greeted by security, “Name?” he asked. I guess this is more serious than I thought. I was able to just hang out with the guys on my birthday, so I guess I was lucky. I wouldn’t want this much stress on my birthday. I guess I do understand how Jo feels.

“Niall Horan,” I answered. He scanned the list, and motioned for me to go inside. I walked in and instantly regretted not going with the boys. I felt confused by all the commotion in here. There were so many people that I couldn’t find a familiar face. I looked around for one of the boys or Jo.

I walked across the room, pushing through the crowd of people. I heard a couple people whispering as I walked through. They obviously recognized me, well; actually I was just THE Niall Horan to them.

I ended up just standing by the table of food. I didn’t know where else to go. I was starting to regret coming here. I just wanted to find a familiar face. I know that some of the people were going to come up to me, but I just wanted to talk to Jo during this. What in the world was I thinking? Jo is going to be busy talking to all these party guests. I shouldn’t even be trying to talk to her during this. I don’t want the paparazzi getting suspicious, or if someone got a picture of us together.

I sighed and looked at the table of food. Might as well enjoy myself while I’m here for a little. I can eat a little, and then hope that the boys come. I can hang out with them for a little before heading home. I shouldn’t even try bothering Jo.

I started eating a little, and then I decided to text the boys to see if they were still coming. I pulled out my phone and texted each of them. I stayed in the same place, waiting for them to reply. In a minute, I got a reply from Louis: Yeah, I’m at the door

Well, he’s here now, so I can just go back over to the door to hang out with Louis most of the time I’m here. I headed towards the door, and on the way there, I ended up bumping into someone, “Sorry,” I mumbled in reply. I looked up and realized who I ran into. It was Asher.
