The painting

"Why did we decide to do this" Mark sighed, tightening his grip on jack's hand "what were we thinking"
Jack rolled his eyes at his scared boyfriend "Mark it's just a house, the haunting stories are total crap and you know it, what's honestly going to happen?"
As if on Que., Jack got sucked into one of the paintings
"Mark! He was screaming and banging on the painting from the other side. The Strange little creatures in the background started moving towards him, hairy and red eyes blazing. "MARK,"
"Jack! Oh god, oh god! Just... Just get to safety, I'll come and find you ok? I swear I will"
Jack nodded, terrified and desperate "I love you Mark"
"I love you too!" And Jack ran off.

It took almost an hour before Mark found a way into the image, he landed in the same spot Jack had, and quickly looked around. The hairy creatures didn't seem to notice him, and he looked for the direction Jack had run. It looked to be towards a mountain, pretty rocky, but not too difficult to climb. Knowing this, Mark set off, running at full pelt. However, on the way, he managed to stand on a stick, cracking it and alerting one of the creatures, who looked up at Mark, her eyes burning scarlet and her fang-like teeth bared
"N-nice dog" Mark muttered, shaking "p-please don't kill m-me"
The creature slowly pawed over to him, making Mark even more terrified. To his surprise though, the creature wandered around him and sniffed at his back pocket. Mark realised, thankfully, he had a leftover ham sandwich in there. He pulled it out and threw it to the creature, turning around and sprinting away.

When he reached the bottom of the mountain, he sighed. It was a lot higher up close, and quite a lot rockier too.
"Jack how did you even, are you a goat?" he muttered to himself, reaching for the lowest rock and starting to scramble upwards. He'd reached almost half way, before he managed to loose his footing, and fall. The fall would absolutely have killed him, if he hadn't managed to grab a small jutting-out rock. Thankfully, he then made it up to a small cave like gap in the mountain, and nothing a small, campfire, that had all but died. However, this gave Mark the smallest hope he was on the right track.

Jack must have been here.

He noticed the cave went deeper into the mountain, and started to follow the path. It continued deeper and deeper, until he could just make out a small, shouting creature.

"MARK, IS THAT YOU?"
"JACK" he screamed back "JACK YOU'RE ALIVE! THANK GOD"
Before the man was a small, very weak rope bridge, and below was... A long drop to say the least.

Mark quickly ran to the path and started to make his way over it, step by step. He reached the other side, and ran to Jack, who fell into his arms

"I didn't think you'd really come for me" he whimpered, burying his head into mark's neck "I thought you'd find someone else, leave me behind"
"Jack" Mark smiled softly, running a hand through jacks hair "I promised you I'd find you didn't I? I would never let you go, not without a fight. I love you" he held Jack impossibly closer "you're my everything"
Jack smiled into mark's shirt "you're my everything too. I love you so damn much Mark"
Jack felt Mark back away suddenly, and he worried he'd done some thing wrong. Had he just screwed up the best relationship he'd ever had?!

Apparently not.
Because Mark was on the floor
on one knee
Looking up at Jack
Smiling.

"I don't have a ring, I. Wasn't planning to do this today but... I think this made me realise, I couldn't live without you Jack. You're... You're my soulmate. I'm sorry if I'm rushing into this... We haven't even been together for a year but-"
He was cut off by Jack pulling him to his feet and kissing him happily, wrapping his arms around him
"Mark, there's not a chance In hell I'd say no to that!"
Mark smiled and pulled him back into the kiss. When the broke apart, he kept his arm tightly around Jack
"Come on, let's find a way out of here"

Hello everyone! Soo me and the fabulous demonwolfguy22 were talking and he came up with this au! Cool huh? Hope you like how it turned out, I'm happy with it

Also, come on guys, I need at least 3 people, but we're one short, unless I use myself ((which i didn't wanna do because the chapter was to celebrate you guys getting us to 1000 reads... I still just can't believe it))
