Day 22

It took less than a minuet for the pain to fully hit, and a red liquid to trace a path down Mark's chest. His first reaction was to flinch, and then call out to his boyfriend, Who was standing just beside him, gun in hand.
"Jack.."
He span around quickly, ducking behind what little cover there was, and quickly grabbing Mark's hand when he saw the red.
"Damnit Mark! You were supposed to stay down!" He yelled at the American "you were supposed to stay down and not get hit!"
Mark sighed and nodded "I know, I know. It's just, I want to help! Better I get hit than loose you."
Jack shoot his head "no Mark, no it's not! What about me, huh? Our wedding's only 2 weeks away, and you're leaving me! It's not fair Mark, it's not fair!"
"I know, oh Jack, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." He reached his hand up and stroked  the irishman's cheek, reaching up to kiss him gently.
"For what it's worth , I really was looking forward to marrying you." Mark whispered "to being able to show off that you, Sean McLaughlin, who could have had anyone you wanted, chose the dorky, gaming, stupid American you did"
Jack nodded sadly, leaning into his partner's hand
"Me too Mark. Of course I chose you, I'd always choose you, just like you chose the loud, obnoxious, gaming Irishman you did. You're my everything Mark, please don't go"
Mark smiled softly, and looked up to Jack one last time
"I have to clover, I promise I'll stay with you though. It'll take a lot more than death to get rid of me"
Jack chuckled sadly as his boyfriend's eyes fluttered closed. His hand slipped from Jack's face, and the younger man moved to hold in instead, never wanting to let go.

Not much longer after that, jack heard another voice shouting at them both.
"Oh for god's sake, We are playing paintball! Mark, stop being dramatic and get up. Jack, stop encouraging him! Now would someone come help me shoot wade already? He's surprisingly good at this and I'm not exactly covered!"

Mark sat up laughing, and Jack quickly  joined in.

When they were back at their house, the paint finally washed out of their hair, Jack smiled over at Mark.
"Did you really mean that by the way? That you're looking forward to showing off that I chose you?"
Mark wrapped his arms around the Irishman with a loving smile
"Well of course I did. I may be a decent actor, but I'm a hopeless liar."
Jack grinned and cuddled closer to his boyfriend.

Paint balling had definitely been a great plan for a bachelor party
