Day 9: hanging out with friends

"This is crazy" Mark laughed "did we really get engaged before we came out to everyone?
"Well no" Jack smiled "Matt and Ryan knew, they helped with the proposal right?"
"Yeah" Mark nodded "if I did the laundry and the dishes for a week! Totally worth it though"
Jack smiled, slipping his hand into Mark's as they sat at the restaurant table waiting for the others. Everyone was in town for a convention, so it seemed like a good idea to come out then instead of one at a time or over Skype. After about 20 minuets, the whole group was there, Bob, wade, Danny and Arin. The group were happily laughing and eating until everyone had finished their food, and Mark sighed.
"Ok, guys I have something to say."
He took hold of jack's hand again and held them up, smiling. "We're together"
Jack grinned and nodded "engaged actually."

For a moment, the table was silent, then Arin and wade groaned and opened their wallets. Mark and Jack panicked, were they going to pay and leave after they came out? Arin must have noticed the two's worried expressions, because he shook his head and smiled.
"Guys don't worry, we're not leaving!"
Wade nodded "yeah, we just lost the bet."
"Bet?" Jack questioned "wait, you weren't..." He trailed off then burst out laughing, as did Everyone except for Mark, who still just looked confused.
"Do you not get it Mark" Jack laughed, and Mark shook his head.
Danny bust out laughing again "oh my god, we were betting on whether or not you guys would end up a couple! It's been on for about 6 months!"
"And we've been together for a year and a half!" Mark smiled "so what was the bet?"
"$5 to the winners, and me and Arin had a side bet, didn't involve money though" he winked at Arin, who quickly went Scarlet
"Wait so because we're together, two of you made $5 and Danny's getting laid? Well you're welcome that we're gay!"

Everyone burst out laughing again and Mark and Jack were happy. They had each other, and they had damn good friends. Life was good.
