The Two men were sat at a bar in LA, since jack was in la for the month. Mark was sitting with a diet coke and jack had a pint of some beer brand, he's forgotten which.
"Her" jack smiled "I bet she'd come back with me if I asked" he smirked at his friend who looked back confused. Jack had joked about wanting a one night stand before, but mark never thought he meant it. "What, the blonde?" He asked, and jack shook his head "no her friend, the short brunette"
Mark followed jack's gaze and noticed her. She was short, her hair was too, and her eyes were a dark chocolate colour, like her hair.
"So, think i could do it then?" He asked eagerly "because I bet I could."
Mark just shrugged, his heart hurt for both the girl jack was treating like an object, and himself, because damn did he want to be that object. Jack downed what was left of his pint and walked over, and about 3 minuets later, walked out with her on his arm, shooting a smile and a thumbs up to Mark. He finished what was left of his own drink, before beginning the walk home, alone and cold.

Jack was already back by the next morning
"Hiya markimoo, you ok?"
"Y-yeah I guess, have fun last night?" He laughed weakly and jack nodded
"Can we go back tonight?"
"We went yesterday though"
Jack shrugged "so? It's only fun" he looked at Mark hopefully and Mark sighed, the look on jacks face made it impossible to say no. "Fine"
"Yay, thanks Mark!"

So that night they went out again, and much to marks dismay, he watched his crush choose another girl, still short with brown hair and eyes, and repeat his actions, again walking out with her and leaving Mark alone, tear threatening to fall from his eyes.

They went out multiple times, not always night after night, but still often. And with every time jack walked out with a new girl, another piece of mark's heart broke away. Sometimes, if there were no short brunettes with dark eyes, the pair would walk back together, and those were the nights mark loved. He loved the way there lamplight shone on jacks face, he loved the way the overly excited Irishman babbled about nothing in particular. He just loved jack in general. It wasn't until  almost 2 weeks after the first time it happened, that Mark got even the smallest idea jack wasn't totally straight.
"That's who I'm going home with" he'd said proudly, gesturing to a guy in the corner, standing with his friends. He matched jacks usual type, just the opposite gender.
"You've had too much to drink" Mark said flatly "that's a guy"
"Yeah I know" jack shrugged "he's hot"
Mark was left speechless as jack once again left with the guy, smiling happily back at Mark.

A few days later they were out again, when jack smiled at Mark, but... Differently. He seemed shy about something, scared even.
"I. Know who I'm taking back tonight" he said, trying to force his usual smile. Mark raised an eyebrow, having looked around for anyone of jacks usual type and finding no one. again, jack spoke up "I've been crushing on him for so long, and I've been dropping hints, trying to make him jealous, but he still hasn't  realised. He hasn't noticed that everyone I leave with has the same features as him, he hasn't noticed I've payed the people I left with to act like they were going home with me, hell, he hasn't even noticed the way I can't stop smiling when he's around!" Jack sighed, still looking directly at Mark
"So.. Who's the guy?"
"Mark" jack sighed and rubbed his eyes "please tell me you're  not that  oblivious"
"Jack what do you mean"
"Oh for gods sake" jack stood up and walked around the table to Mark. Slamming their lips together. Mark melted into the kiss quickly and smiled when they pulled apart
"That's what I mean" jack smiled back "so, do you think he'd come back with me?" He held out his hand and Mark took it, standing up and planting a small kiss on jacks cheek
"I know he would"
