Perfection (shakes head and laughs)

Perfection

Perfection is nothing.

Perfection is everything.

Perfection is a star at dawn,

the silver lining on every mushroom cloud,

the streak of lightening cutting through the midnight sky,

a dew drop poised on a single blade of grass,

and the voice of a silent heart.

Perfection is children's laughter.

Perfection is asking those silly, idiotic questions.

Perfection is those secret inside jokes.

Perfection is all things beautiful.

Perfection is that blue and black kid who's been tossed around too much.

Perfection is a widowed soul, alone in a rocking chair.

Perfection is hopeless, desperate wishing.

Perfection is everything ugly.

Perfection is death.

Perfection is life.

Perfection is things not seen

     and things hoped for.

Perfection (shakes head and laughs)

Perfection.

Perfection, they say, is in the eye of the beholder.

Perfection, some say, has no definition.

Perfection, others say, is unachievable.

Perfection, I say, is.
