Aren't morals found only
in yin, as some may say?
While yang carries what can only be
much, much more risque?
Of this I cannot be certain
and yet - it is what I portray
But I must be wrong, I reason,
for it is biased if I do not
And justification comes freely
so it seems my prior theory is for naught
Realize then, for you must comprehend
that yin can only be yang
and yang can only be yin
And in this way
I am wrong
But hasn't life already taught me that?
My teacher speaks of yin and yang
seperate yet also as one
each sharing an equal part
touching but also very far apart
But, Life continues,
both yin and yang are marred
in the same spot as the other
right at their own heart
Black taints white
and snow stains night
Each with a mark from their counter
And, if this is so,
then I must conclude
that sin and virtue
cannot be found in just one,
nor exclusively in the other,
but in both yin and yang together
A/N:
A little about the poem: I was researching a new story idea about the seven deadly sins and seven contrary virtues when I thought this little poem up. I was kind of pondering over my thoughts on sins and virtues which is reflected in this piece. Hope you liked it!
A little about the banner (►): Obviously yin and yang typography thing going on. Yes, I know there are two and (&) signs. It's for design purposes. Just pretend there's one, mk? ;) Hardest part was probably getting all the layers right. Hope ya'll enjoy that too!
Questionare that, if answered, with an explanation for each, one may receive a virtual cookie:
1. Did you know yang was referring to men and yin was referring to women?
2. Like me, or as I used to, do/did you associate yang/men with sins and yin/women with virtues or were you the other way around?
3. Do you agree that both men and women share similar virtues and sins?
