#374 in Poetry! Whoot, whoot, whoot!
Love you guys! 🙌🙌😂
---------
Dreams are like soap bubbles.
Pretty.
Fragile.
Fun to make.
Easy to break.
---
The small ones require little effort.
I'd like an A on my test.
I want to buy that new clothing item.
Small indulgences, that don't mean much.
Just one good breath, and they fly out.
---
But some dreams are special.
These are the big ones,
The ones that you spend half a minute on,
Blowing ever so gently, ever so slowly,
As it grows on the wand of your mind.
---
I want to help Mom fight the war.
I want to become an Olympic runner.
I want to succeed in the tech industry
These are a few of these dream.
I want to bring my parents back together.
I want to save my sister's life.
I want to make a difference in the world.
These are a few more.
---
Some die before they even take flight.
Too big
Too heavy
Too ridiculous
To make it out.
Some are crushed by passerby's.
Intentionally.
Unintentionally.
Sometimes even you
Can crush your dreams by accident.
---
But there are some dreams
That live.
That fly
That soar above the rest
A glittering, shinning orb
Proof of what you can accomplish.
---
And then you can relax
Sit back
And smile.
As you watch your creation
Dance and soar
Before your weary eyes.

PoetryUPDATE: I wrote these when I was 13 and depressed all the time. I'm 18 now, and, fortunately, life's been going well! Unfortunately, these poems are fairly cringe, so read at your own risk. Just some poems that I write when I'm in the poetic mood...
